I have actually had contact with David Coad who has done a lot of research and they were not in information either. There was some talk that COAD was from the east coast of Tasmania but I have not been able to come up with anything. Thanks for you help anyway.

Hm these kids are not on my list. Initially I thought they must be Cygnet Coads (originally Irish Codds in Tasmania) but they were all Protestants and I dont have them.
Best bet is the family were Irish alright, maybe COADY, CODY or CODD, but I am only guessing here

>From what I have been told, Phyliss, Celine and Billy were all children of COAD (unknown christian name) but Eileen was born in Hobart 1897 to unknown father, May Williams mother.
I am only presuming the name is spelt COAD, but I have also researched COADE, CODE, CODY, COADY, COODE and CUDE.
It has been said that the family, prebyterian, disowned her for wanting to marry a catholic and only sketchy information has now been passed down.

I am searching for May Williams, born in Tasmania about 1870 who married COAD in Tasmania or NSW Australia and had children Phyliss, Celine, Billy and Eileen (different father). I am told they lived at Paddington, Sydney, NSW. Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Andrea

I have been doiing quite a bit of work updating the various trees in preparation for the book. I have also, I think, finally broken the question of where the Perran Coads come from. There is a new article on them on my blog http://coadcoode.blogspot.com/.
In line with this I have finally put all the Truro Coads on the one database - they were spread between three before. To do this, I have made use of the research and clever suggestions of Ed Man, a lovely old gentleman in his mid eighties who is descended from the Gwennap/Perran Coads.
You can find it at http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ database "trurocoads". To use it you should find your way up to the top, always called "START" in my trees, which describes the plan.
========================================================
I have also updated the "devoncoads" tree over the break, a more formidable enterprise. In particular I have now included a full tree for the CODDs, COWDs and CUDEs of Devon, which I am pretty sure are ours, and also one for the COYTEs and COYDEs of Modbury and Brixham Devon, which I am pretty sure are not, since their family dates back to the late 1200s. I
I have had quite a bit of dealing with the COYTE family project. They are quite sophisticated and have a regular reunion. We should seriously think of doing the same.

Joe, I realize your post was made a few years ago, so I hope you are still around to reply to my message. I have been mulling over your post the last couple of days because my Edward is "Old Neddy" Coad and got quite the surprise that I have supposedly been looking in all the wrong places if all you say is correct. I have seen what is considered the falsified Coad genealogy and have been basing my searches off of it since I had no other leads. If you don't mind me asking, what documents have you seen about "my" Edward? Since a few years have past, have you found out anything more on Edward Coad & Alice Cundy? Also, who are Neddy's children, then? I have seen elsewhere (maybe even something else you have written) that Edward and Jane Best had a daughter, Nancy? Since I've never heard of her, do you know what happened to her, who she married? I would love a starting point if you'd be willing to share with me.
Laura
