Thank you so much for the info, Edwin. William VIVIAN married "Betsy" CROWLE and they are found in St. Austell Cornwall in the 1851 census. I don't know where George went. Some have said that I need to check with the Australian VIVIANs to find others from this line.

I found their first born son, Samuel Coad VIVIAN & family on the 1851 British Census. I did not find George or your William. Perhaps these boys immigrated to U.S. by 1851.

Thank you for looking. I sent my application and check out about a week ago. I have about 6 lines that are in St Austell or Luxulyan that I'm tracing. Figured it was worth the price of admission. I will let you know if I confirm this marriage if you are interested.

I happened to be at Cornwall RO last week and checked this marriage out on the parish register. Unfortunately it doesnt help distinguish between the several likely candidates as both are given as of this parish, meaning that they were living there at the time.I would suggest that you join the Cornwall family history society and get them to search their computerised index of the 1851 census which will give their ages and parish of birth if they were still in Cornwall then
happy hunting. Get back if you need furtherhelp

Andrew,
I doesn't appear anyone on the COAD-LIST has a connection at this time with your Mary COAD.
Does her death cert. give the name of her parents? If we had more info, we could be of more help.
The IGI has a film of the marriage record, Batch # M503622, Source Call Number 0012045. It may be of some help to order this film from your local LDS Family History Center, as it may contain valuable info.
You can find your local LDS FHC at this web site.

Valerie,
I search my records and did not find your Mary COAD and William VIVIAN.
You may want to secure birth and/or marriage certificates for this family.
If you need help with this, send me a private note.
