Hi Kathy,
I am also interested in this family.
Isaac Coad married Beatrice Parker. She was the daughter of Jeremiah Parker
and Ann Walker of Hope twp, Ontario. They also lived in South Monaghan twp,
Ontario where the Parkers settled.
I am a descendant of Jeremiah Parker and his wife Beatrice King.
I have extensive information on the descendants of Jeremiah Parker and his
first wife Beatrice King. They had 16 children.
I do have some information on Isaac Coad and Beatrice Parker`s family. I was
aware of the Wm Parker Coad and Mary Skelton marriage and the names of two of
their children.
By 1871 , the Coad family had moved to Collingwood, Ont.

Hi RexAnne:
Welcome and thanks for posting to the COAD-L.
Few questions:
Have you checked the 1850, 1860 and/or 1870 Census for Luzerne County, Penn.
or Maryland ?
Do you have any death records for your Joseph Coad, b. abt 1855 in Maryland?
Have you been in contact with Ed Allan? He is researching COAD's from
Maryland.
allans7(a)home.com
This is a very large family of COADs, it would be strange that not one of
them mentions their grandfather in letters, family bible or other papers.
Have you contacted your cousins from this list of COAD siblings?

My thoughts and prayers to everyone around the world.
I received a copy of an interesting book yesterday. It was written by My
Uncle Bob COAD (1909-1987) and his wife Kathryn. It is a book of their lives
growing up and adventures together and raising their family. When Uncle Bob
retired, he and Kathryn bought an RV (they named it the BOB-KAT) and
traveled for two years around the US and Canada. During this time, Uncle Bob
wrote down his memories of life growing up in Oregon and subsequent years.
There are a couple of letters by an Uncle to his father in the book. Their
sons compelled Aunt Kathryn to write her remembrances as well. They printed
eight copies. My sister and I have one of the copies. Needless to say, I
learned a lot about my Uncle and his family. He and Kathryn eloped during
the depression. They had a successful photography business for many years in
Idaho, but that and their home was destroyed by fire. They have made a lot
of wonderful friends in their travels and the book is a great picture of
their life.My father's teddy bear traveled around the country with them on a
shelf just behind the driver's seat, so he got to see the country too. I now
have teddy, and in my father's pictures have a picture of it sitting under
the Christmas tree the year he received it, probably about 1913 or 1914.
This inspired me to go back on the internet. I stopped in at one of the
genealogy sites and there was a reference to William HOOKE COAD of
Woodstock Ontario b September 10, 1837 d November 1, 1891. He is buried at
the Mountain View Cemetery in Oregon City, Oregon.
As Hooke is a family name, it caught my eye and we have a William HOOKE COAD
christened 6 Oct, 1837 in Yealmpton, Devon, England. It seems like a very
strong possibility that this is our William HOOKE COAD. I have at this time
no other information on William. The person listing the information is not
related, but lives near the cemetery and takes pictures of the gravesites
and posts them to appropriate websites or forums in hopes that it will help
someone with their search. Amazingly, I went to High School in the city just
north of Oregon City, and visited their many times as they had these
wonderful falls that were fun to see.
What is even stranger, is in the book that I just received and read last
night, in a letter written by Edward F. COAD of Dallas, Oregon to my
grandfather (Edward E.) (Edward F. is Edward E.'s Uncle) there is a
paragraph that reads in part as follows: "Will, who visited you, is a son of
William COAD; and I always had in mind that he was about the age of your
father or Uncle Jim."
Thus it would appear that there were children.
If anyone wants me to send them the picture of the gravesite, let me know.
Take Care, and God bless everyone.
Regards
Beth
[My apologies to the admins of the few lists that this will go to.
However, you are probably the people most likely to notice any bounced
emails]
All,
We are moving our greenaus.com domain over to our other server in the next
few days. We don't expect significant delays, but thought we ought to warn
you in case an email bounces unexpectedly or you can't access the website.
We have also just registered a new domain which will be used for a new
business project we are putting together.
>From next week, all of our domains will be located on the same servers
saving us time and money managing multiple domains and different locations.
As long as I cna remember the passwords, I should survive. ;-)
Cheers,
Charles
again congrats on your list!!!
I read some, and of course have nothing to offer. But am amazed at the
response.
Nothing much going on now on our sites..so enjoy yours Carol
Hi Listers,
That's were my computer has been for the last several days. A complete fresh
install of the OS was in order after being hosed by an unknow program,
website or virus. I'm not sure which one it was.
I'm up and running again and I must admit a fresh re-install clears out a
lot of collected junk and brings back renewed vigor to the system.
Ed
Linda,
Does Leo COAD have any living descendents? Do you know the date of Leo's
death and/or where he is buried? We could look up his death records and
obits.
Ed Coad
Nothing on the Cornwall FHS 1841 or 1851census records
I concur with Ed in that the marriage cert is likely to give the most
productive info

Charles,
Have you checked the GRO for the marriage of Harriet COAD and James
TRETHOWAN?
Do you have birth certificates for the children, Mary and Henry Coad
TRETHOWAN?
Do they give any info about Harriet and birth parish?
There seems to be LDS records posted on your Harriet COAD. However, most of
LDS IGI records appear to be unsubstantiated.
What about the 1851 census for Harriet and James?
Ed Coad
Linda,
What, if any, info have you been able to glean on, Leo COAD's father, James
