Myra,
Thank you so much.
This is all news to me
I have been searching for her family off and on for the past 10 years with help from my mother & my mothers cousin to no avaiI
I really hope this is her
As for her birth i have found on her Death Certificate it says Richwood, Mo. And in her obituary it says Richwoods, Mo.
It also says she joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at the age of 10.
I have no idea where this church is and it doesn't say perhaps that could help you.
Also something i forgot to add was my grandfather said she was full blooded Native America.
I have never found any document that says this but he knew her so i just took his word for it.
I hope this is helpful.
Traci

The only possible family I've found for your Maggie Jane Vanderpool is John T. Vanderpool and Ellen Elvira Lunsford. However, I have not found her with her purported parents in 1870 census. John T. Vanderpool died in 1874 in Macon County, Missouri and his widow, Ellen Elvira (who drew a widow's pension as a Civil War vet) died in 1928 in Sullivan County, Missouri.
If this is Maggie Jane's family, then she had brother, James W. Vanderpool, who was born about 1865 in Sullivan County, Missouri. Apparently he became a Nazarene minister and I believe he died ca 1927-1930, probably in New Mexico or California.
James W. Vandepool, age 15, is listed with his mother, Elvira Vanderpool, 36, and her mother, Sarah Lunsford, 70, in the 1880 Sullivan County, Missouri census. But, Maggie Jane is not with them. This was a few years before she married, so she might be relatives or working out, but I have not located her, yet. I have been unable to find John T. and Ellen Elvira in the 1870 census either. Sullivan County is some distance from Washington County, if that is where Maggie Jane was born. There was a great deal of migration of Missouri families during and just after the Civil War, so anything is possible. However, I wonder if Maggie Jane's place of birth -- Richwoods -- is correct or if you know the source of that information. Anything would be helpful in this regard. I'd like to solve this mystery. If she is the daughter of John T. Vanderpool, then I can provide you a great deal of information on your Vanderpool line. -- Myra

There are many Maggie Clymers in the USA with similar dates--can you give us an area where she resided or was born/died? I have an extensive collection of Clymer surnames, mainly on the East Coast of USA, but some from England.
