Shelly,
I am not from the direct line of Henry Vance Clymer and Mary Johnson. I
line is from Henry's sister Lucinda Clymer. She married Beverly Ward
Gilmore. I would love a copy of the photo is possible while you try and
locate someone directly related. I don't have contact with anyone from
that line at this time. I know that several of them moved to Arizona
and that Mary Johnson Clymer died there.
Kathy

Subject: CLYMER Family Photograph
I've "rescued" an old photograph of Julia CLYMER which was taken at the
Bradley & Rulofson Studio in San Francisco, California. The photograph
appears to have been taken in the 1870's with Julia likely in her early
teens at the time it was taken. In addition to her name, someone has
written "daughter of Henry Vance & Mary JOHNSON CLYMER" on the back of
the
photograph. Based on limited research I was able to locate the
following
information regarding Julia and her family:
Julia Johnson CLYMER was b. 1859 in Marion Co. Oregon to parents Henry
Vance
CLYMER (b. 28 Mar 1824 in Rush Co. IN) and Mary Layman JOHNSON (b. 25
Nov
1826 in OH). Julia was one of 9 children born to this couple including,
Jacob Melancthon Johnson; Sarah Ellen Johnson; Elbridge Morgan Johnson;
George Washington Johnson; Mary Johnson; Julia Johnson; Eugene Johnson;
Julian Johnson; and Henry Vance Johnson CLYMER Jr. All born between
1851
and 1863 in Oregon.
Census records provide the following information:
1860 census of Lebanon, OR:
Henry CLYMER, age 36, a Farmer, born IN
May CLYMER, age 34, born OH
Sarah CLYMER, age 8, born OR
Morgan CLYMER, age 7, born OR
George CLYMER, age 5, born OR
Mary CLYMER, age 4, born OR
Julia CLYMER, age 1, born OR
Elizabeth JOHNSON, age 57, born TN
Mariam JOHNSON, age 22, a School Teacher, born IN
William RANDALL, age 26, a Day Laborer, born KY
Jeremiah CALHOUN, age 22, a Day Laborer, born Ireland
I am hoping to locate someone from this CLYMER Family so that the
photograph
can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family, or
you
know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
