Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Hello everyone,
Happy holidays to everyone! This message is from your friendly list administrator. Over the past several weeks there have been many spams to many lists from people who are subscribing to web sites like reunion.com or tagged or Winster.com.
A word of warning....when you subscribe to a site such as this, these sites copy your address book and send invitations to each and every address in it....including your rootsweb lists. When that happens each list you subscribe to will get spammed with an invitation. Some list managers are putting people who do this in moderated status...which is akin to closing the barn door after the cow has gotten out.
I don't know that there is any solution to the problem except to say that which I have already said. And if they give you an option to select addresses for your invitations to be sent to then please see to it that your rootsweb mail lists are excluded.
Thanks!!
Joyce Gaston Reece

Marshall loved spending time and visiting with his family and loved
telling stories to his grandchildren, who adored him. In his leisure
time, he loved to do woodworking crafts and loved being in the outdoors,
enjoying hunting and fishing with his brothers, family and friends.
