Steve Klamar was the son of Steve and Anna (Chernisky) Klamar. They lived in Clymer, Indiana County, PA. Steve died in 1945. They had 8 kids - Mary, Anna, Steve, Louis, John, Joseph, August and Edward. Mary married Albert Vozar or Bozar - I've seen both spellings - I'm not sure which is correct. Anna married Mike Fabian. Steve and Anna are buried at St. Bernards RC Cemetery in Indiana, PA. I have never looked for their stone. Steve had a cousin named John Klamar. John and his wife Mary (Ogurcak) are my great grandparents. John and Mary had 7 kids - John, Mary. Max, Joseph, Anna, Albert and Emma. Max died in the old country. Anna and Emma are still alive but said that their parents didn't tell much in the way of family information. Steve's son, Joe, is still alive. He said that he had been told that Steve and John were the last of the Klamars and both came to the U.S. John and Mary lived in Dixonville, Indiana County, PA. Clymer and Dixonville are about 3 mile!
s apart. Mining companies sent reps to various places in europe to recruit miners - they promised them jobs and bought them boat passage to the U.S. The surnames in the town of Dixonville, PA and the town of Dedinky, the Slovak Republic, are the same. Men were brought from Dedinky to work in a mine in Dixonville - so that everybody spoke the same language and there would be no safety problems due to miscommunication in the mine. Both towns had Cherniskys, Spissaks, Tomaykos, Jendrals, Liptaks, Ogurcaks, Oravecs, Sarnovskys, etc. Ed died in 1968 - I haven't looked up Steve's wife or his other kids. I can't find John and Marys son, Joseph - if you come across an extra Joe Klamar - let me know.

Thank you for your reply. I really have no true way of knowing whether or not this is the same line of Clymers' or not, but I would be interested in trying to find out. My email address is frizsis(a)hotmail.com if you want to email me. I don't know how much help I can be, but I would greatly appreciate any that you can give. Thanks, Jackie.

I am researching the Oscar Clymer family who moved from New York to Michigan about 1837. They landed in Clinton County, Michigan. Oscar is the son of Isaac and Sally Clymer. Isaac was born in New Jersey about 1802. Oscar married Miranda Olds (my line) in 1855 possibly in Milan, Monroe County, Michigan. There they had 7 children: Emily b. 1856, Benjamin b. 1860, Carey b. 1863, Frank b. 1861, Fred b. 1868, Irene b. 1866, Winnifred b. 1874. In 1860 they were in Gratiot County, Michigan but by 1870 they had moved to Milan, Monroe County where Miranda's sister, Lydia (Olds) Campbell was living. Anyone else researching this line?
Thanks!
Kim

I believe I have information on your Oscar. He was the son on Carey Clymer and Minnie. He had a sister named Dora. Carey was the son of Oscar and Miranda (Olds) Clymer. I have a little more information but I am researching Miranda Olds family so I have quite a bit on that line! Would love to share information!
