I have family that were Clydes. They lived in Northwestern PA.Jefferson and Elk County, My G.G.Grandfather was Harry A. Clyde he was born in Halton PA. on May 5, 1877, He married Ella Grace Willson and they had 7 children- Celesta June, Alta Odessa, Martha Zelma, Jackson Neal, Samuel Hugh, Estella Elaine, and John Burdette (infant who died at birth) Ella died in 1944 and Harry re-married Geneva Heverly.
Harry A Clyde died Oct. 12, 1962. He wrote an Autobiography that is current to 1956. He was a school teacher and also a logger who rode that logs down the river to Pittsburgh to the lumber mills when they were clearing land in those counties. I am wondering if we have anything in common? My GGGGrandfather was Harrison Jackson Clyde born-1845-1924 and his wife was Mary Ann Brosius 1846-1922.
They had 5 children- William P.; Samuel Fredrick, John Burdette, Harry A. and Anna Mae. (Martha Zelma Clyde was my grandmother= she married John Adam Zimmerman and had 9 children)
