I do not have any McMasters in my Clyde database. Samuel Clyde of the Cherry Creek Massacre was my 4th Great Granduncle. The massacre ocurred on 11 Nov 1778. The Mrs. Clyde spoken of in History of Windham NH p 383 was Catherine Wasson Clyde, wife of Col Samuel Clyde. In the History of Windham Catherine Wasson was the Mrs. Clyde who cowed, with her children, beneath a sheltering log for 24 hours, wet with rain and chilled with the cold, without food and no shelter. (History of Windham NH by Leonard A Morrison, p 383....www.ancestry.com)

I have a Susan Clyde in my ancestry who married an Archibald Wiseman in 1838 in Newburgh NY. Her father may have been a David Clyde, 1781-1847, who is buried in Old Town Cemetery in Newburgh. After the death of her husband, she married the widower James McCord in Newburgh in 1860. She and McCord were last censused in 1880 living in the home of one of her sons and one of his daughters, who had themselves married one another in 1868. For several years, I have been seeking the site(s) of the final resting place(s) of Susan and James McCord, and when they passed away. RSVP here if you have any helpful information.

I am seeking the parents of Hannah McMaster. Hannah was born in the 1790s, married Philip Snyder in Westville, and died in 1873 in Laurens, so she seems to have lived in Otsego County most (all?) of her life. Hannah's granddaughter Mary (Smith) Moulton wrote a book "True Stories of Pioneer Life," in which she relates a story, told to her by Hannah, of Hannah's mother's family escaping the Cherry Valley Massacre. This story is nearly identical to the well-known story of the Clyde family's escape, and it makes me suspect that Hannah's mother was a Clyde. Is there a known marriage between a male McMaster and female Clyde in the Cherry Valley area?
Thanks in advance for any help, or even tips about places I might look for such information.
