To Whom it might interest :
I found the following entry in my great grandfather's journal. He was John Jay Southwick, lived from 1856 to 1953. During this period in his life he was living in Dawson County, MT. Maybe someone out there trying to slueth out Charles LeRoy Clyde might be interested in his other name. If you want what little more is said about this trip let me know. This person is not mentioned elsewhere in what we have. I have no idea which name might be the original name, or if neither is.

May 1st, 1883 - Chas. LeRoy Clyde alias R.S. Belnap, my neighbor and I started for the western part of Montana to buy sheep, found them to suit us between Virginia City and Dillon W.W, corner of Territory, bought of James Underwood.
Once again I ask if anyone out there has ties that trace back to this man, who is buried at Old Town Cemetery in Newburgh, NY, having died somewhere around 1840. I believe him to be the father of Susan Clyde, who married Archibald Wiseman on Christmas Day, 1838 at the Associate Reformed Church in Newburgh.
Their first child who lived to adulthood was Elizabeth Wiseman (1842-1875), who married John McNeal (1840-1923) in Newburgh in 1863. Elizabeth and John were my paternal grandmother's parents.
The Bark "Lanark" brought A. Wiseman from Liverpool in 1836.
The ship "Adam Carr" brought the J. McNeals from Glasgow in 1845
The ship "Macedonia" maybe brought J. Gaffney from Liverpool in 1846.
The ship "Underwriter" brought C. Cavanaugh from Liverpool in 1853.
The M. Redmonds came over from County Wexford to Illinois in 1850.

Hello: I've been trying to find info. as to the members of the Clyde family that I grew up knowing in Auburn, WA. I remember Grandpa & Grandma Clyde (I believe they were Willard & Ida/Emma); my family also knew Dan & Loreen Clyde and also Ivan & Joyce Clyde, who also lived in Auburn before moving out of state in the '70's. I know that Dan & Lorene are now living in OK, but cannot find Ivan & Joyce; would you know of this family and where they are? Thank you so much. I, too, live in Auburn, WA. God bless!
