Robin Frank ROBERTS where are you?
I am researching Charles Clutterbuck, chr Wheatenhurst 4 Jun 1797
While endeavouring to verify his parents, I received from Roy Clutterbuck an email suggesting that William Clutterbuck & Sarah Dean may be his parents and one
of 4 references to this fact was ...........
"Family Notes" (Robin Frank Roberts, 25 January 1992).
I would love to have this clarified by Robin or anyone else who might be able to assist.
Thanks, Michele

Hi Michele
Pleased to know that the extract from the Clutterbuck book has reached you
safely, but I was surprised to learn that there is no copy of the book in NZ. I
had believed there wasone in Australia.
As regards Charles' parents we need look no further than the full wording in the
Wheatenhurst Parish Register of his christening on 4th June 1797 stating he was
the "son of William Clutterbuck and his wife Sarah". As regards his parents'
marriage Coaley Parish Register states "William Clutterbuck of Wheatenhurst
bachelor and Sarah Dean of this parish spinster married 8th July 1793."
Curiously the Clutterbuck book does not as you can see give the precise date for this marriage, but it does add that Sarah's will was proved in1827. However it also
notes that Thomas' will was proved in 1822, but who was Thomas? Was this in
error for William?
I hope this is of help to you.

==== CLUTTERBUCK Mailing List ====
I don't have info on the Ohio branch of the family (Clatterbuck) but, I do
have a letter that you might find interesting from one of my Clatterbuck,
Missouri cousins.
Cathy M.
Letter as follows:
<<Some of the people that have done research that mentioned earnly in my
letter thought the Clatterbucks had split up and some gone to Ohio. I
believe this is true because when Senator John Glenn ran for the President's
nomination several years ago
He came to Jefferson City (MO) and spoke in the Capitol Building. I had the
Pleasure of talking to him. He was quite famous at this time. He was an
astronaut and form Dayton, Ohio. When I introduced myself to Him, he quickly
caught the Clatterbuck name. he told me there was some Clatterbucks in His
district or about 30 miles from where he lived. He said it was a small town
of Millersburg. It was a Pleasant surprise to learn this and to think He was
willing to give me this information. >>
