To all Clutterbuck list researchers,
If any one would like lookups done from " The family of Clutterbuck" I would
only be to happy to oblige.
I am no Clutterbuck expert, but I feel quite privileged to posses a copy and
it would be a great thrill to be able to help. Please email me with
relevant details dm(a)lamaison.fsnet.co.uk I have the entire book
scanned into my PC, so its no problem to email copies of any relevant pages.
By the way is there anyone out there related to the Clutterbucks of Bucketts
Hill, Berkeley, Glos.?
Look forward to hearing from you.
Dave Ward.
Nigel,
Assuming per your email address you are in Tasmania, Australia then you
can probably get a copy on interloan from the State Library of South
Australia.
Good luck,
Victor

Clutterbuck info.

Beautiful quality 1920 oil portrait of an English Lady.
This oil on canvas is by the Norfolk artist Violet Clutterbuck and it
bears her mongram in the top right hand corner. Clutterbuck ( what an
interesting name!) herself was a member of the English Aristocracy and was
related to the prestigeous Gurney family who have lived in Norfolk for
many generations. Her address was given as "Northrepps Hall, Norfolk." She
was a member of the Norwich Art Circle from 1897 to 1938 and the style and
period of this work shown here suggests that she painted this portrait in
circa 1920, the height of elegant fashion of that period in Britain.
This work is oil on canvas, measures 24 by 30 inches and the frame ( more
modern) measures 29 by 35 inches. The painting is in very good condition
indeed. The quality is immaculate and in the flesh, as well as hopefully
shown in this photo of the painting, this work almost has a luminous
quality about it in that it almost seems as if a light is on it or that it
glows.
