Bill,
It is interesting reading the information about the two Johns. A posting by Cynthia Cocker on 22 June 2001 talked about her John T being in Matamoras, Ohio. It is said that My great-grandmother, Alice Clarisa Clutter was born in New Matamoras. Is this the same as Matamoras?
Alice's father was James Clutter and I don't have any information, that I know of about the mother. The family is related to Marion Napoleon Clutter (b. 1860 - d.1932) and Effie Louise Folger-Clutter (b. 1868 - d. 1947). James may be the brother of Marion.
This Cutter family moved from Johnson, Pa in 1860 to Pittsburg after a flood destroyed the town. They moved on to Tyler County, West Virgina . All of this family ended up in Wheeling, WV. I actually met the wife of one of ther late sons living in Wheeling on Off [sp] Street.
Is there any relationship or do you know anything about this family.
John Minto

Hello Charles
There are a couple of Diadema Clutter. I don't have any knowledge of a "Fay". Do you have her fathers name?

I totally agree with Bill. The Clutter family is very confusing to track down.
Keep the faith it will all fall into place. If you know the original Clutter that immigrated it is much easier to start with Casper.
Good Luck

I believe that, if you review the Rev. War pension application for William CLUTTER, you will find an affidavit from John T. CLUTTER explaining that he and his father, the said William, were partners in a blacksmithing effort and that a fire consumed the discharge papers for the said William. This pension application was rejected by the government, but that does not mean that the relationship as cited was not true. It almost certainly was true.

Hello Tara
I am afraid I have made a huge mistake on the dod for Andrew Jackson Clutter.
I told you his DOD was on 30 Mar 1848. That is not correct, that is the date of his marraige to Mary Ann Keigley/Kiegley.
And as for the other dates for his children, I am receiving conflicting info. So I will have to verify everything again. I will be visiting the FHC tomorrow, I will recheck the dates and let you know what I find out.
I do apologize and I really need to start using a more updated hardcopy form that doesn't have the marriage date right on top of the death date.
Again I am sorry for any inconveince this has caused.
I you look at the post from Charles Marsh you will see other dates also. ( I am not sure that is the name on the post, but it is in with your other replies to your post, from Kathy with Marsh as the author.)
Note to Kathy:
"Thanks Again Kathy for letting me know."

Hi Kathy
You are so right. I must of been out of my mind and didn't see that I was inserting a marriage date as the death date.
Thank you for pointing this out to me. I will ccontact Tara and inform her of my mistake.
Thank again
Kimberly

hi kimberly
there is no way andrew jackson clutter could have died in 1848. he married mary ann keigley in 1848, but all the kids were born after 1848.

take a look at the 1870 census for the family-pg 20, 21 athens township, gentry county, missouri. andrew is 42. if he died in 1848, he would have only made it to 20 and the kids would not have been born.
