Havel Clutter, celebrated his 80th birthday on March 7.
His family held a surprise dinner at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Kenneth Plants of Claysville.
He was born March 7, 1915, in Enon, the son of the late John N. and Bertha Clutter.
Mr. Clutter married Sara Beabout on March 10, 1936, and they celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in March.
Mr. Clutter is a member of the Claysville Methodist Church and Claysville Senior Citizens. He retired from Washington and Jefferson College.
His children are Shirley Plants of Claysville, Stanley Clutter of Claysville and Earl Clutter of Prosperity.
His grandchildren are Todd Plants, Rhoda McGrew, Rodd, Chadd, Gretchen, Crystal and Carla Clutter. He also has one great-grandson.

Elizabeth Ullom Clutter, no age, wife of John Clutter, of Center township, this country, died at her home Monday evening February 25, aged 61 years. She had been in poor health for some time. Mrs. Clutter was a kind-hearted, Christian woman, and was held in high esteem. She had been a member of the ME church for about thirty-eight years. She leaves three brothers and five sisters to mourn her demise, Dr. J. T. Ullom and G. W. Ullom,Esq., of this place; Jesse Ullom, Esq., of Rogersville; Mrs. William Orndoff, of Hunter’s Cave; Mrs. David Weaver, of White Cottage; Mrs. M. L, Morris, of Rogersville; Mrs. Barnet Wiley, of Rock Lick, W. Va., and Mrs. Lindsey Orndoff, of Ohio. The funeral was held on Tuesday at 12 o’clock; services being conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. R. Moore. Interment at Hopewell.

Dora Mae Clutter, 91, of Claysville RD 1 died at 7:30 PM Thursday, Aug. 9, 1984, in the home of her daughter Mrs. Iva Mankey of Nineveh.
She was born Sept. 15, 1892, in Richhill Township to William and Sarah Mattie Reed Clutter.
She was married Aug. 25, 1909, to Harry S. Clutter who died May 14, 1971. Most of her life was spent in Morris Township and she was a member of the Enon Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Paul “Ferne” McKissick of Claysville; Mrs. Iva Mankey of Nineveh and Mrs. John “Ines” Minton of Hundred, W. Va.; a son, Von of Accident, Md.; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-granddaughter and two sisters, Mrs. Grace Ruth of Claysville and Mrs. Mary Yorke of Washington.

Announcement is made of the marriage of Marjorie B. Clutter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Clutter, Aleppo, to Cpl. Charlees Duane Gump, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlees J. Gump, Waynesburg. The single ring ceremony was performed Friday, Nov. 26, 1943, in the parsonage of the First Christian Church at Carmeron, W. Va. by the pastor Rev. Irving J. Kerrick. Mary Lou Clutter, sister of the bride was bridesmaid and James W. Gump, brother of the bridegroom was best man. George Bissett, Graysville and Eloise Reed, Aleppo, also attended the ceremony.
The bride is a graduate of Aleppo High School and West Virginia Business College at Fairmont, W. Va. She now is employed as secretary to Interstate Engineers and Constructors of Fairmont, W. Va. The bridgroom is a graduate of Hundred, W. Va. High School and is now a dental technician in the Medical Corps and is stationed at Camp Barkeley, Texas. The newlyweds left immediately for Fairmont, W. Va. Cpl. Gump will return to camp Dec. 6, and Mrs. Gump will resume her????? rest of article gone.

d. January 1865 Warren County, IA. Salome married John Almer LEWIN on 24
May 1810 in Pickaway County, OH. The family, which consisted of 14 children,
migrated to IN, IL, finally settling in IA in the 1850's. Any leads are
greatly appreciated since Salome remains one of my most stubborn brick
walls.

Mr. Clutter attended Washington County schools.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War.

Lewis A. Clutter, 52, of Washington RD 5 died at 6 AM Friday, January 4, 1985, in the Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington, following a long illness.
He was born Sept. 20, 1932, in Richhill Township, a son of Willis L. and Melza M. Ealy Clutter.
He was married February 5, 1955, to Marilyn Westfall, who survives.
He was a member of the Friendship Community Church in Log Pile.
Mr. Clutter worked for Jessop Steel Co. for 25 years and was a member of the Jessop Employees Club.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are one son, Kenton A. Clutter of Washington; four daughters, LuAnn Wright, Mrs. David “Katherine” Plants and Mrs. Theodore “Elaine” Freno all of Washington, and Mrs. Evan “Carol” Salsberry of Corpus Cristi, Texas; nine brothers, Willis S. and Fred L., both of West Finley, Raymond N. and George R., both of Claysville, Leo E. of Washington, John L. of Cleveland, Ohio, Roy L. of Sycamore, Larry W. of Willow Grove and Reed H. of Prosperity; two sisters, Mrs. Robert “Lena” Bistle and Mrs. Harry “Nancy” Atkins, both of Washington; and four grandchildren, Bryan, Amy, Andy, and Melissa.

Ralph “Whiskers” Rush, 67, of Claysville RD1, died unexpectedly at 6:38 AM Wednesday, July 4, 1984, in Washington Hospital.
He was born Feb. 5, 1917, in Richhill Township, Greene County, a son of Zella Clutter and the late Floyd Rush.
Mr. Rush had lived in the Claysville community for the past 36 years. He was a Protestant and he had been employed as a butcher for Lee Gashel and Sons for a number of years. Mr. Rush was a veteran of World War ll, serving in the European Theater as a T-5 with Battery B, 978th Field Artillery Battalion. He was a member of Claysville American Legion Post 639.
On March 18, 1948, he married Opal Conklin, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Bruce Rush of Claysville; and his mother, Mrs. Zella Clutter Moffitt of Waynesburg.

The Clutter reunion was held at Jacksontown, September 8. Attendance was larger the last two years with 200 present. Dinner was served cafeteria style at noon. President Walter Clutter was re-elected and other officers were chosen as follows; Vice president, Warren Clutter; secretary-treasurer, Edith Clutter Jones. A short talk was given by the president and a reading was given by the secretary from a history of the clan dating back to 1882. Many friends and relatives came from distant towns and cities; Pittsburgh, Warren Ohio; Woodruff, W. Va.;West Finley, McKeesport, Waynesburg, Wheeling and Washington. Music was furnished by Ernie Reese, Bert and Bill Wright, Lewis Huffman and Chester Stage, and there were whistling solos by Norman Wright. It was agreed the reunion would be held at the same place in 1936.

John M. Clutter Golden anniversary, Nineveh, May 4.- Mr. and Mrs. John M. Clutter will observe their 50th anniversary Sunday, May 14, 1950, at their home, Nineveh, RD 1, at Beulah.
Mr. Clutter is the youngest of the 11 children of the late Isaac and Sarah Beabout Clutter. Mrs. Clutter is the oldest daughter of the seven children of the late Supler and Sidney Huffman Wise.
Friends, neighbors and relatives are invited to call between 2 and 4 PM or 7 to 9 PM. At noon a dinner will be served for the immediate family.
Mr. and Mrs. Clutter have been lifelong residents of the Beulah community and are members of the Union Valley Methodist Church.
They are parents of five daughters, Olive, widow of Walter Swart, of Washington, Pa.; Ett, wife of Cecil McWhorter, of Nineveh, RD; Veva, wife of Wilbert Wright, of Nineveh; Jamella, wife of Elmer McCormick, Jr., and Goldie, wife of Reed Bamberger, both of Nineveh, RD. They have 13 grand children and two great-grandchildren.

50. Mrs. Elizabeth Colson Clutter, widow of Zebedee Clutter, died this morning at 12:30 o'clock at the home of her sister, Mrs. S. R. Hewitt, of near Crows Mills. She had been in failing health since August 8, 1915, when she suffered a stroke of paralysis but the immediate cause of her death was pneumonia, from which she had been a sufferer since Friday. Mrs. Clutter was the daughter of the late George and Mary Wilson Colson and was born near Bellvernon, April 20, 1851. At the age of five years, the Colson family moved to Greene county and settled near Wind Ridge. The remainder of her life was spent in that section. She was married Aug. 11, 1892 to Zebedee Clutter whose death occurred Aug. 11, 1909. At the age of 15 years she united with the Methodist Protestant church and had always educated in schools of the county and for a number of tears taught in the schools of the county. Later she took up dressmaking which she followed as long as her health would permit. Because o!
f her active life she was widely and favorably known. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Hewitt with whom she had made her home for the last few years. Short funeral services will be conducted at the Hewitt home Sunday forenoon at 10 o'clock and further services in the Presbyterian church at Wind Ridge. The services will be in charge of Rev. A. M. Riggs of Wind Ridge cemetery.

96. John T. Clutter, 77, Dies In Morris Township, died at 9:37 AM today in his home in Morris Township, Greene County, near Old Concord. He was well known, having been born and spent his entire life in that section.
Mr. Clutter was a son of Abraham and Matilda Carroll Clutter, who moved to Illinois while he was still young. However, he made his home with an uncle, James Carroll, of near the Beulah Baptist Church, during his early life. He married Minerva Booth September 27, 1877. She survives, with six children, Roy T., at home: Bernard R., of Lakewood, N.J.; Mrs. Grace Brewer, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Bird C. Clutter, of Nineveh; Guy S., of Nineveh, and Leslie M. of Springfield, Mo. He also leaves three brothers and two sisters, William, Samuel, Addison, Alice and Minnie Clutter, all of Homer, Ill. There are 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday in the home, in charge of Rev. John C. Myers. The body will be placed in the Washington Cemetery Mausoleum.

103. Funeral services for Larry Eugene Clutter, 47, of Guthrie, Okla. were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999 at Davis Funeral Chapel in Guthrie. Rev. Arnold G. Jones officiated under the direction of Davis Funeral Home. Burial was at Arlington Memory Gardens in Midwest City, Okla.
Larry was born Feb. 12, 1952 in Edmond, Okla., to Wesley and Betty “Gripado” Clutter. He died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999 at Midwest City Hospital in Midwest City, Okla.
Larry had lived in the Edmond-Guthrie area all his life. He was a graduate of Edmond High School and a 20-year employee of General Motors.
He married Deborah Hoel on May 20, 1978 in Oklahoma City.
Larry is survived by his wife, Deborah Clutter, of the home; four children, Kim Stricklen and husband, Joe Stricklen, Michael Clutter, Kari Clutter and Staci Clutter, of the home; parents Betty Garbe, and Wesley Clutter; four brothers, Robert Clutter, Johnny Clutter, Roger Clutter and wife Cindy; David Clutter and wife, Stephanie; two sisters, George Ann Anderson and husband, Terry and Janice Lauback; grandmother, Arlene Galstoda and one grandson, Michael Hodges.
Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents; one son, Nathan Clutter and one brother.

She was born Feb. 21, 1893, in Time, Greene Co., Pa., a daughter of William and Nancy Breese Phillips.
She was a member of the Union Valley Methodist.
Mrs. Clutter was a homemaker who attended schools in Time.
On June 7, 1911, in Washington, she married Charles Bentley Clutter, who died July 21, 1970.
Surviving are four sons, Herbert Clutter of Wheeling, W. Va., Donald Clutter of Cartland, Ohio, Harlan Clutter of West Finley; four daughters, Mrs. Charles "Mildred" Hughes of West Finley, Mrs. Alva "Althes" King of West Alexander, Mrs. Raymond "Norma Jean" King of Warren, Ohio, and Mrs. James "Joann" Bruno of New Egypt, N.J.
125. Ollie L. Cheek Clutter, 77, of West Finley RD 2, died at 9 a.m. Monday, September 25, 1967, in her home. Although she had been ill for some time her death was unexpected.
She was born May 5, 1890, in Richhill Township, a daughter of Price and Mary Courtwright Cheek, and spent all her life in Richhill Township. She attended the Crabapple Community
Church.
She was married in November, 1919, to Jesse E. Clutter, who died in 1951.
Surviving are two sons, Herman Clutter, of West Finley RD 2, and Albert Clutter of Washington; two daughters, Mrs. Russell “Lenora” Miller, and Mrs. Carl “Lillie” Barney, both of West Finley RD 2; 19 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great- grandchildren, one stepson, Paul Clutter, of Waynesburg; three brothers, Roy and Price Cheek, of Wind Ridge, and Lawrence of Washington, RD#, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Ostrander, of Marianna.
A stepson, James Clutter; a stepdaughter, Nellie Shurden; two sisters and one brother are deceased.
Funeral services were held Thursday with burial in Wind Ridge Cemetery.

Surviving are two brothers, Frank Clutter of Nineveh and Havel Clutter of Claysville RD 1; one sister, Goldie Clutter of Graysville RD 1; one grandson, Bruce Rush of Claysville; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are one son, Ralph “Whiskers” Rush; two sisters, Clarice Rush and Vernie Davis; and four brothers, Orvis, Lester, Wilbert and Willis Clutter.
