Richard. I put her in because most of the books do, but I dont believe she
belongs to this famly. I have a tentative of 1726 and I really dont think I
like her for this spot.

Thank you very much. I saw different Clute names on the records from Montgomery County and Albany but wasn't sure how they all fit. I certainly appreciate you sharing your work. C. Cornett

John did not leave many records. I got some of the information on his children from various descendents over time. His father seems to have been Nicholas Clute, born 29 Nov 1767 Schenectady, died 30 Sept 1852 < Montgomery, Logstown,NY on A. G. Garr Farm, He married in January 1789 to Maria Hall, 24 March 1765-29 Oct 1838, child of: William Hall and Maria Veeder. Nicholas is the son of Johannes Clute and Jannetje Ouderkerk.
Children: Jannetje married Peter Fredericks, Hannah married Court Willette, Viann married Peter Fredericks( as second wife after her sister died), Nicholas married Sophia Van Patton, Maria married Garrett Brokaw and John married Mary S. Abel. This family seems to have lived in Montgomery county and there may be records available in that county to help pin them down.

I would really appreciate any information on John's lineage, thanks. I have had trouble pinning down records for John. Those early census records with age brackets can leave me guessing!
