Thank you so very much on the information on Henrietta Clute, and I would be ever so grateful for what you could send on this family.I beleive now that the Bethsheba married to Goodrich is probably the first born of Henrietta and John Johnson, most likely named for Henrietta's mother. Is this family (Clute) Dutch, or German?
Again, thank you for your kindness in helping me, and please excuse my slowness in getting back to you,....trying to get the end of the garden put by. About as time consuming as genealogy! Kay

Thank you for the information. I have printed it out. I think it is a different Catherine though because I have her father listed as Bartholomew Vosburgh and he was born in Ghent, NY. Catherine was also born in NY.

Here is a Catherine in Brooklyn 1880 census. Look for husband in Greenwood cem. in same lot to make connections. Often this is how you can determine some relationships. Usually buried together. Of course this may not be Catherine Vosbourgh.

I am searching for information on Catherine Clute that is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY. She married a Clute but I don't know his name. I am trying to make some Clute connections in the Brooklyn, NY area. Catherine died on 11/7/1895. The death certificate is difficult to read but it looks like she was 78 years old when she died. Her father was Bartholomew Vosburgh. If anyone has any information, please let me know.

There are a number of Clutes buried in the Waterford Cemetary. I do have a likely father for her.. Sovereign Clute married Mary Valentine around 1800. He had at least two children bp. in Schuylerville Reformed Church, Saratoga. There is some chance that Sovereign was also known to his neighbors(mostly English) as Solomon..I have a few of his children.. Juliana and Sara, but know there were more than this.
Just did the smart thing and tried variants of Henrietta.. and boom.. Hendrickje, bo 24 Aug, bp. 13 Sept 1801 in Colonie.. She is the daughter of Gerrit Clute and Bata Bovy ( Bata was later always called Bathsheba) I even have a note that she married John Johnson ( tentative) but there you are.. If you want, I can do the children and his ancestry.. Just let me know.

Thank you for your reply on Henrietta.
I have seen the Henrietta married to Ahijah Willey, listed with children somewhere on Ancesty.com as May 1800 and died 1854, with Ahijah as 1793-1871. I'll look again as She may not be the Henrietta I'm looking for, based on Childrens ages.(?)
What I have is John J. Johnson & wife Henrietta in Waterford, Saratoga Co NY in 1850, Clifton Park Saratoga County in 1860, and Waterford in 1870 and 1880. John Johnson was born abt 1794 NY, died July 1873. Henrietta born abt 1801- died Mar 1881. They are both buried in Waterford rural cemetery. Per census their children so far are Joseph 1827, Mary J. 1835, Gertrude, Garrett, Henrietta, Rachael, John J. jr, and Emma who may be the last in 1846. The oldest may actually be Bersheba, she married a James Goodrich and is buried in the family plot at Waterford rural. She was born abt 1821.
In 1880 Henrietta is living with daughter Mary J who married Henry Sears. Bersheba is also living there. There are Clutes living nearby in all census's, but may be just that, and no connection...
In the 1930 census of Clifton Park, Mary J. Sears Grandson, Edward Sears lives with Fred & Eva McIntosh. Fred is the Grandson of Gertrude Clute 1827-1912, and John McIntosh 1822-1900. I think Gertrude is the daughter of Levi Clute of Schenectady.
The ages & marriage date of the Henrietta Clute & James Johnson who married in 1821 seem to fit the James Johnson & Henrietta I'm researching, so I was hoping to either prove the relationship or rule it out. Thank you for taking the time to help me out, Kay

This Henrietta is a puzzle. The only Henriette( Hendrickje) in my records that would fit is the daughter of Evert Clute and Sarah Sybrandt. She would have been born 28 Jun 1800, bp. 6 Jan 1805. This woman first married Ahijah Willey, Jr. But there are no further records for her and I wonder if he died and she then married John Johnson in Colonie. She was baptise in Schuylerville Reformed Dutch Church. I wish I had some further information, but checking the childrens names should help..If you find an Evert or Ephraim and a Sarah, you might have the right woman.. For some reason the english changed Evert to Ephraim. Probably has to do with how it is pronounced.

I found a Henrietta Clute married on May 9 1821 to John Johnson, at Boght-Becker Dutch Reformed Church in Colonie, Albany New York. I need to find out who they were, and what children did they have. May be a possibility they are the John & Henrietta Johnson in Waterford, Saratoga Co NY that I am looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated....Kay
