looking for others who are researching the KLUTT/KLUTH families of MI. I do know from family stories that the family did pass through Ellis Island. I do not know the name of the ship. The family may have had other relatives migrating with them?
Where did this family 1st settle? Copemish?
My line is from Copemish, Manistee CO., MI. The first family moved their about 1892 as immigrants from Prussia. They were Lutheran's.
Ferdinand KLUTH with wife Amelia "Emilie" STEINKE came to USA c1892.
They brought their children; Paul Emil, Pauline, Wilhelmenia, Hadwig.
I have some Kluths burried in Copemish Cem. in Cleon Twp.
When Ferdinand died in 1913, Emilie sold the farm in Copemish and moved o Traverse city her children. They all continued to live in TC area.
Emilie's mother Johann West-STEINKE also came to USA from Prussia. I found her in the Copemish cem too.
Trying to connect with others and find new information too.
If you can guide me I surely would appreciate any help.
