Vevah.. Fascinating.
Who do you suppose this Daniel in the 1880 was with the Watros living with him and his wife in Illinois. I am really puzzled by that one..
Will change the data base for him, but will puzzle out the Watros connection. Will recheck the census for maybe an answer.

Daniel Clute, born ca 1825 Livingston, Leicester and a carpenter when young.. Then in Illinois.. Daniel , Harriet (Watrous) 44, Thomas 16,Hattie 14, May 9 with Alice and Hiram Watrous.. Seneca Mc Henry.
This Daniel is one of five in the Livingston area.. Probably all are descendents of Daniel Toll Clute and his wife Annatje Bancker/ He may be the son of Thomas Clute and his wife Clarissa Lambert. The name Thomas is not that common in the Clute line.

Dear Elizabeth Loewe, Your reply was gratefully appreciated. You are correct, I meant Samter. My query was in regards to finding information about the family of Harriet and Daniel Clute. I have been researching the Watrous line for my mother-in-law. She descends from the Watrous line. We found the cemetery where Harriet and Daniel are and there were flowers still being placed at the headstones, but didn't know who was still so caring after so many years. We thought that a family member would still have information as we have so little information on this line. Harriet Watrous is the sister of Sylvia Jane Watrous, who is the 3rd grt grandmother of my mother-in-law. I can tell you are a descendant through the marriage of David Samter. Do you have any other information, that you would care to share about David and his first wife Hattie? Or would you know if there are any living descendants of Miriam and Harriet. Your email message was very welcomed and gratefully received. Th!
ank you, Chris Also I would be pleased to share my information with you on what I have.
