Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I'm hoping someone can help me with this.
I have found out that my great-grandmother, Matilda O'Brien, born 1869 and
died October 27, 1898, at age 29, in Charleston County, Charleston, S.C. She
may have been born County Cork, Ireland instead of the US. She married my
great-grandfather, John Boyd, born 1850, in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Charleston
County. He died
July 8, 1906, at age 56.
H-E-L-P!
Thank you.
Jean Clute
Hello All,
I noticed that Dana Christian was looking for more recent CLUTES. Well
I would be interested in contacting any living descendants of Frederick
CLUTE and Francyntje DUMONT. Anna Barbara CLUTE married Abraham J. FORT 15
Jan 1716. This is my line. Anna Barbara had many
brothers and sisters, so there should be many cousins out there. I should
like to compare notes with any of them.

Good morning Clute researchers!
My, what a silent bunch. There are 16 members of the mailing list.
That's kind of small but considering we all probably descended from one
or two people, we ought to have something in common. I will start the
ball rolling by going over my Clute brick wall. (That sounds like I
will be scaling a fence.)
My Clute information comes from my husband's grandmother, Elverna Emma
Clute. She was born in Iowa on 3/2/1899 to Arthur (Eugene) Clute, born
about 1864 in Perry, Wyoming Co, NY and his second wife Mary Jane
Taylor. They had 2 other daughters, Nellie and Minnie. Mary Taylor
Clute died 6/17/1906 and Gene Clute gave his 3 daughters up for
adoption. He became an alcoholic and Elverna never saw him again. He
died in 1934 and is buried in Clayton Co, IA.
Arthur Eugene Clute was the son of Charles A. Clute and Elvina Evelan.
He had 2 brothers, John Clute and Augustus Clute and a sister named
Sadie Clute.
Charles A. Clute had a brother named Zealous? Clute. Zealous was
married to a woman named Almina. They had a son named Charles E. Clute
born 8/22/1862 in Perry, NY, died 12/3/1936 in Buchanan Co, IA. Charles
E. married a woman named Mary Winifred Snyder in IA in 1886. They had 5
daughters, Frances, Mary, Nellie, Sadie and Sevilla.
About 6 months ago, I found the Charles E. Clute-Mary Winifred Snyder
family on the GenDex web site. I was so excited until I was told the
information was from the "Donald Wagner Genealogy Work" and they had no
idea how to contact that person. The work was a study of the Snyder
family.
Elverna always claimed her family was descended from Johannes Clute and
Bata van Slichtenhorst but she was over 90 when she wrote all her
information down. She left out about 7-9 generations. I haven't
figured out which Clute family the Perry, NY Clutes belong to.
Those are my Clutes. The line has just about "daughtered out" although
Arthur Eugene Clute's brothers are unaccounted for. I have communicated
with several of you in the past and I know many of you have established
your Clute lines back to Frederick Clute or Johannes Clute. I'm just
hoping someone will recognize my lines someday. ;)
How about a roll call so we can see who each of us is descended from.
