Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Hi,
Recently a virus appeared to come from my computer, but it really originated
in my sons computer. Before he moved, I used Outlook Express in his
computer. He only uses Hotmail or Yahoo and never opens Outlook Express.
Apparently the W32.Sircam virus, sent to his computer, got into my old,
closed address book and sent out items from his computer. I also received
the virus, but it was quarantined by Norton. The only way I realized what
was going on, was when I received an email from someone in that address book
and not my current address book. I'm sorry this happened, but it shows us
how important it is for us to have a virus protection program running and
updating itself at all times and NEVER OPENING AN ATTACHMENT if we aren't
sure of the source.
'til later,
Phyllis Morefield
