Elder. The others are also brothers and sister's of his. Some of the others

you need it but not Rodney, again!! The other cousin is Carina Slack and
she and I have decided that he wants everyone else to do his reaseacher and
then send the finished product to him. We both gave him the information

Some family trees have beautiful leaves, but some just have a bunch of
nuts.Remember it is the nuts that make the tree worth shaking.

THE TREE
Life wasn't always easy;
But she never did complain;
Though I saw her shed a leaf or two,
When cold November's came.
How her arms spread wide
And welcomed any weary nesting soul;
Vast numbers took their comfort there,
In spring and winters' snow.
When August sun's beat down on me,
I rested 'neath her shade;
And warmed myself in winter
With the firewood she gave.
Played beneath the shelter
Of her strong and sturdy limbs;
Swung from her branches happily
With all my childhood friends.
In her bark, I carve initials
Of those sweethearts long forgot;
>From her branches, hang my medals,
And hide my secrets in her knots.
>From her seeds, I grew an orchard,.
In her leaves I made a bed;
And when I thought to give up...
Her trunk spoke, "forge ahead!"
I gaze now through her branches,
Far past where eyes can see;
And every bough uncovered,
Tells that much more of ME!
And I proudly bear the markings
Of her awesome history;
Oh, she started but a seedling ...
And became my family tree.

THE ELUSIVE ANCESTOR
I went searching for an ancestor ...
I cannot find him still,
He moved around from place to place
And did not leave a will.
He married where a courthouse burned,
He mended all his fences;
He avoided any man
Who came to take the U.S. Census.
He always kept his luggage packed,
This man who had no fame;
And every 20 years or so,
Tthis rascal changed his name.
His parents came from Europe ...
They should be upon some list
Of passengers to U.S.A.,
But somehow they got missed.
And no one else in this world
Is searching for this man;
So, I play geneasolitaire
To find him if I can.
I'm told he's buried in a plot,
With tombstone he was blessed;
But the weather took engraving,
And some vandals took the rest.
He died before the county clerks
Decided to keep records;
No Family Bible has emerged,
In spite of all my efforts.
To top it off this ancestor,
Who caused me many groans,
Just to give me one more pain,
Betrothed a girl named JONES!

If You Could See Your Ancestors
If you could see your ancestors,
All standing in a row,
Would you be proud of them,
Or don't you really know?
Some strange discoveries are made
In climbing family trees;
And some of them, you know,
Do not particularly please.
If you could see your ancestors,
All standing in a row,
There might be some of them, perhaps,
You wouldn't care to know.
But there's another question
Which requires a different view ...
If you could "meet" your ancestors,
Would they be proud of you?

Has anyone been able to find when they emigrated from Europe, and/or on what
ship(s)?
this is what I have Jim.....
"Pennsylvania German Pioneers" by Ralph Strassburger gives the following
entries for Klunck (Klung):
Alberth (Albert) Ship -John & Elizabeth, Qual. 7 Nov 1754;
Joha. Andreas Ship -Snow Chance Qual. Philedelphia 10 Nov 1756;
Johann Peter also on Ship -Snow Chance Qual. Philedelphia 10 Nov 1756.
The Klunk Family of PA began with the arrival of Peter Klunk in Pennsyvania
in 1756 from Alsace-Lorraine. He and his family settled in the small a
Catholic community called Conewago.

I may be wrong on him. The Wm. Clunk that I found is 18 in Sept. 12, 1861
and joins E Co. 19th Reg. OH as a private. He makes Corpl 11-24-1862 & Srgt.
12-9-1864. He is mustered out Oct 24, 1865.
Wm Clunk, Anthony's son according to History of Columbiana County is in New
Lisbon Co. E and is mustered out July 14, 1865. He is born Oct 1837
according to Mr. Wood & he quotes the 1900 census. That would make him 24 in
1861 not 18.
Does anyone have any thoughts?
Peggy
OK I think I have them figured out.
James Clunk is married to Harriet Carlisle James is the son of John & Julia
Kibler
John Clunk was married to Julia Kibler & Elizabeth Haines. Elizabeth files
for his pension after he dies in 1901.
Joseph Clunk 76 Ohio was the son of Anthony & Anna Elizabeth Elder.
Nicholas M. Clunk 104 Ohio was the son of Anthony & Anna Elizabeth Elder
Peter Clunk 104 Ohiowas the son of Anthony & Anna Elizabeth Elder
William Clunk 19th Ohio Infantry was the son of Anthony & Anna Elizabeth Elder
Jacob Clunk 19th Ohio Infantry was the son of Anthony & Anna Elizabeth Elder
Anthony Clunk 143rd Ohio is married to Elizabeth Fastbinder. This Anthony is
the son of Anthony & Anna Elizabeth Elder
Jacob Clunk 19 Ohio marries Margaret Fastbinder & he is killed in KY
He has two sons who join William 76 Ohio & John Alexander 78 Ohio
John Clunk Jr. is John Alexander. Pension records show he served in the 78th
Ohio.
He was not a Jr. but is the son of Jacob and grandson of Anthony & Anna
Elizabeth Elder
That leaves Joseph Clunk in 19th Ohio Infantry 3 Months 1861 that I can't put
together with anyone. Info on him is he joined 4-24-1861 Pvt. age 21 E. Co.
19th Inf. Reg Ohio mustered out 8-28-1861. The only Joseph Clunk that I have
is the son of
Anthony & Anna Elizabeth & Charles Wood says he was born c. 1834 no 1839 or
40. He was killed in 1863 in AR during the war. Unless he spent 3 months in
the 19th & then transferred to the 76 where he died, I have no clue who he
is. Does anyone have any ideas?
Peggy
Jim can you send in the information you have on Joseph Clunk and also the
John Clunk so I can compare files.

William H. Clunk d. 8-5-1965, Marion, Marion Co., OH
Ethel V. Clunk d. 102801965 Akron, Summit Co., OH
Helen Clunk d. 10-22-1966 Youngstown, Mahoning, OH
Does anyone know where they fit in?
Peggy
I found this info on the internet at ancestry.com. Does anyone know for sure
who she is. There is a Frank A. Clunk who died 9-25-1963 & a Samuel D. Clunk
who died 10-17-1960 also listed from Salem, Columbiana, OH. Was she the wife
of one of them?
I thought they lived in Lisbon? Is Lisbon & Salem all in the same area?
