HI Peggy,
I haven't been ignoring you but for some reson I have been unable to get
into myFamily Tree so I am not able to give to you all the children of Martin
and Mary Ann. John Elder was their third child. They also had a Williman I
know of but the rest of them I don't recall right off hand. This John Elder
is my grandfather. I need any information that you can find on the marriage
of Martin and Mary Ann. I have the date of their marriage and where it took
place but that is all that I know. I have nothing about where eithre was
born or the rest of their families!! I have no information on whee they
moved from Columbian County down to Galia ,Ohio where my grandfather was
born. I know that Mary Ann gilson had a brothre named Joseph buut nothing
more about her family either. I have no idea who her parenst were or
anything about her family!! I have gone through the records of Ancestry but
I find little information about the Gilson family that Mary Ann was a part
of. ANY HELP I WOULD BE FOREVER GRATEFUL!!!
Ruth
Looks like the line is Peter Sr. + Mary, Peter Jr. + Elizabeth Weber
(Weaver), Anthony + Anna Elizabeth Elder, Martin + Mary Ann Gilson.
Martin & Mary Ann Gilson hae 2 sons Anson & James, so one of them has to be
the Clunk you are realted to. Can you fill in the rest of the line?
We are spelling the name Clunk, did this line keep the Klunck spelling ?
Peggy
Hello Megin,
It is a very good possibility that we are related as I am almost sure that
our Clunk goes back to Peter Klunk who came here from Germany!! I have not
been able to fill in some of the gaps but I would bet the bank on it!! My
suggestion is to stay connected with this rootweb list and we will all find
the gaps that we have to fill working together.
How long have you been working on your family tree?? My sister has been
doing this for years now and she hsa books full of information!! I am in the
process of adding all that she has to my data bank on the computer. We have
family all over the country. A lot of our cousins live in Florida. I live
however in Ohio which is where a lot of the Clunk's live during the 1800's
and the early 1900's. My mother was a Clunk. Her father was John Elder
Clunk. He was born on the day of the Battle of Bull Run during the Civil
War. My Mom was born in 1900. If I can help you in any way please let me
know.
Thank you for your interest.

HI ,
Thanks for the try but this John Elder is John Elder Clunk who married
Melvania Crain. They were mt grandparents!! John Elder Clunk is the son of
Martin Clunk and Mary Ann Gilson. That would be my great grandparents!! I
have a copy of my granfather's death certificate but the information on it is
incorrect!! His mothre was listed as Elizabeth but I know for sure that was
wrong even though the information was given by his son. My Mothre told all
of us that her grandmothe's name was Mary Ann Gilson.
If you find anything on the two of them I would grateful for the help as I
keep running into brick walls!!
Thanks Ruth
I searched my Clunk line & don't have any info on John Elder Clunk or
Melvainia Crain. Please send info. I have a marriage for Martin Clunk and
Mary Ann Gilson.
Peggy
HI family,
I have just checked my mail and find that you have included some web sites
for the use of tracing back your fmaily but for some reason I start out with
part two what happened to part one?? It is nice of you to post all of
these in one reading as some folks may not have know that they exsisted out
there!! Just checking to see where I lost part one!!! Thank you!!
Ruth Bartley!!
Come on now I know that there are more on the Clunk root web then those that
I have seen replies from!!! I think I have seen about four counting myself!!

I thought this was very cute and we could all use a little change...If you
think you have hit a brick wall when doing genealogy ...TRY TO FIGURE THIS
ONE OUT...LOL
Many many years ago when I was twenty three, I got married to a widow who was
pretty as could be.
This widow had a grown-up daughter who had hair of red.
My father fell in love with her, And soon the two were wed.
This made my dad my son-in-law and changed my very life.
My daughter was my mother, for she was my father's wife.
To complicate the matters worse, although it brought me joy.
I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy.
My little baby then became a brother-in-law to dad.
And so became my uncle, though it made me very sad.
For if he was my uncle, then that also made him brother
To the widow's grown-up daughter Who, of course, was my step-mother.
Father's wife then had a son, who kept them on the run.
And he became my grandson, for he was my daughter's son.
My wife is now my mother's mother and it makes me blue.
Because, although she is my wife, she's my grandma too.
If my wife is my grandmother, then I am her grandchild.
And every time I think of it, it simply drives me wild.
For now I have become the strangest case you ever saw.
As the husband of my grandmother, I am my own grandpa!!
