Hello,
I'm new to the list and am researching my Gr. Gr. Grandpa William D. Cluny
and family. I don't have any parents or brothers and sisters for him. He
was born in 1828 in Ireland. Does anyone know if the Cluny name is
predominant in a certain area of Ireland? According to my Grandma, he was
Protestant not Catholic, so I assume from Northern Ireland? He came over
about 1849 and enter the US through Canada and was in the 1850 Detroit,
Michigan Census. Then worked on laying track for the railroads and made
his way to Lincoln Co.,Missouri this way. He was married to Margaret
McPherson (her married name?) about 1862. They had one child, Daniel Cluny
b. June 1863 in Michigan. Sound familiar to anyone? Thanks for your time.
Patty (Jamerson) Archer
