Folks!
Here is a page of Death Certificates for individuals with the surname of
CLUFF in the state of Missouri between 1910 and 1955.
http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/results.asp?t
ype=basic&tLName=cluff&tFName=&sCounty=all&tYear=#null
Also from this site you should be able to go back to the index and
search for other names if you suspect you have any MO connections.
Hope this helps someone! Please let us know if you recognize anyone!
No connection as far as I can determine to my family.

Brandy,
I believe this might be your grandfather! What do you think...?
Social Security Death Index Record about Herbert Cluff
Name: Herbert Cluff
SSN: 048-12-9943
Last Residence: 29710 Clover, York, South Carolina, United States of
America
Born: 3 May 1925
Died: 5 Dec 1992
State (Year) SSN issued: Connecticut (Before 1951)
In the 1930 US Census, there is a Herbert C. Cluff Jr. b ca 1925 but in
Maine. His father is Herbert C. Cluff Sr. The entire family were born
in Maine so I don't think the family is connected to you. I searched
for any given name thinking he may have gone by a middle name but didn't
see a possibility. Likewise I searched for a CLOUGH with any given name
born about 1925. Again nothing jumped out as a possibility.
Hope this helps!

My grandfather, (Herbert Cluff) I didn't know well but from what I did
find.. I think he was born in 1925 and passed in 1992. I believe he
married
or was living with a Virginia Mayhew. I think that information is
correct.
I haven't talked to my father today and I just started looking this
week.
If I find out anymore, I will let you know.
His ex-wife (My grandmother, Norma I. Surdam-maiden name-remarried
O'Dell)
was born in/around 1929 and passed away in Sept. 1998. I know more
about
her side of the family. Her father was William Surdam, 1909-1992. She
was
born in Winsted, CT, and only has one sister, who is still living. I
believe her grandmother or mother's name (I'm not sure which) was
Isnella
Pectal..
If you want more info, I'll definately try to find out as much as I
possibly
can.
Thanks.

Brandy,
I searched during my lunch hours some census records for the names and
states you mentioned without any obvious hits. Can you provide some
birth dates of those no longer living to assist me in finding them in
the census records? (For privacy and security reasons in this day and
age, it's best not to include vital records on anyone living.) Thanks!

I don't know much about my family line yet, because I'm just starting to
research it.
My father is William E. Cluff and has a sister Linda MacDonald (Cluff).
I
BELIEVE their biological father's name was Herbert Cluff and my
Grandmother'
s maiden name was Norma I. Surdam (I know a little bit more of her
side). I
know that they lived in the CT and Mass. Area. I don't know much more
about
the Cluff side of my family, actually. I am trying to research it a bit
more because both grandparents are deceased and I'm not sure what my
aunt
and dad know about the Cluff side. If anyone knows any info, I'd
greatly
appreciate it.
