I do know who Will S. Cluff's parents and grandparents are, but I would like to know if either Will S. Cluff , Jr. or his sister Patircia had any children? Do you know any current descendants?
Grace,
I was not aware of the time limit at the ArchiveGrid site. Thank you
for making this known. I'll let my other lists know this too! End of
May is better than end of March but it will come soon enough! Thanks
again!!

If you go to: http://archivegrid.org/web/jsp/index.jsp
and input Whaley in the search box, 162 entries regarding the Whaley
name
is returned for items in university and other archives around the world.
Perhaps someone will find a clue to their own personal family history,
if
not at least it is interesting.

Message Board Post:
Samuel Clough Wall was born 24 August, 1842 in Indian Territory. His father Noah Wall (b. 15 Sep 1785 Rowan Co NC) died 31 August 1842.
Samuel's mother, Eunice Ellen Clough (b. betw. 1790 and 1803 in Bradford NH) died in August or possibly Sept of 1842, leaving Sam to be
raised until he was 7, by his older half-brother, Dave Wall. Eunice was a missionary/teacher to the Choctaw Indians, and is said to have
traveled with them on the Trail of Tears.
Apparently, when Sam was 7, an uncle came from Massachusetts or New Hampshire, to get Sam and take him to live with his mother's
people. Sam had a cousin named Ellen M Horne. She was the daughter of one of Eunice Clough's sisters. "Horne" was her married name.
(She was married to George W Horne). I have found Samuel C. Wall, (an 8-year old male, born in Arkansas) living in the home of
Nathaniel and Jane C. Spencer,on the 1850 US Federal census for Campton, Grafton, NH. Jane C. is Jane Clough (according to "Family Data
Collection - Individual Records" on Nathaniel Spencer) On on the 1860 for Wolfborough, Carroll, NH census, Sam is living with the Benjamin
and Lucy C. Wiggin family, which includes 2 sons named Edward and Frank, and a daughter named Ellen M. Lucy C. is Lucy Clough "of
Henniker", born 9 July 1814, died 11 July 1882 (according to a book on Wiggin Geneology, apparently at the Library of the New Hampshire
Historical Society).
Does anyone know what family these three Clough sisters (Eunice, Lucy, and Jane) belong to?? Or who Noah Wall's family was? Before
Eunice, he was married to Lucretia Folsom, daughter of Nathaniel Folsom, and there were about 7 children, including Dave Wall. I have
most of his decendants, but no ancestors.
I have read a in a few places that Sam was with Dave until Dave's death in Texas in 1853, when he was killed in a gunfight. I don't know
where this info actually originated, but I have been unable to find any record of Dave's having a young boy with him , in all the mentions
of his travels, which include marrying at least 2 women, fathering a few children, and supposedly being killed in a gunfight... And if Sam is
hanging out with his uncle all this time... why is he already listed on the NH census at the age of 8, in 1850?
Anyway... I hope this will jog someone's memory...
