Subject: [CLUFF] Cluff family
Date: Wed, 26 Jun 2002 16:59:30 EDT
Hi, I'm Mary Jo McKinley. The Cluff family is actually in my husband's
family line.
My husband's paternal grt grandmother was Minnie Malinda Cluff. Her
parents
were Thomas Cluff and Margaret Peacock. Minnie was born in Cynthiana, OH
on
12/11/1858. She died in Fayette Co. OH on 08/21/1950. Her husband was
Thomas
Harrison Moss whose parents were Rial Moss born in Scotland and Susan
Flick
from Virginia. Minnie and Thomas were the parents of my husband's
grdmother,
Margaret Bell Moss. She married Chester Glenn McKinley of Washington CH,
OH.
I have other info, but don't want to muck up this email with more
confusion
than I already have. Thanks, Mary Jo McKinley
Mary Jo!
I can't believe I missed seeing your message on CLUFF-L in June of 2002!
I'm the list admin! I'm working on a web page for CLUFF-L and reviewing
old messages and I found the above message of yours!
I have been collecting information about the CLUFF/CLOUGH's in Pike
County, OH where Cynthiana is located. My ancestor Charles C.
CLUFF/CLOUGH (b 1815 KY) was in the neighboring county of Highland. I
don't have time to write much now but I hope this email address is still
valid. I'd love to compare information on this family!! Have you found
the parents of Thomas yet.? I have always wondered if my Charlie and
your Thomas weren't brothers as well as the Parnell CLUFF who lived in
Pike County and a John CLOUGH who lived in Adams Co., OH and later moved
to IL. I also have wondered for years if they all weren't sons of a
Reuben CLUFF from Kentucky.
