Folks,
I have heard of "blogging" before but I never thought of it as being useful
in genealogy but go to the referenced site below and see what you think of
the way it is used with an old diary. People can annotate with comments at
the links.
If you want to find out more about "blogging" in general, search google.com.
There are all different kinds of uses. Some considered it a fad, but it's
even being taught as a form of journalism. Chris Sackett's Aunt's diary
during WWII would work well. It would be ideal to publish old books with
the links being corrections and updated material. Relatives could then
annotate with their lines.
I too find it fascinating and thought I'd share the concept with my lists.
Please don't ask me to explain it any further than what's here. It's new to
me too. It's potential in genealogy is definitely thought provoking.
Later...Nancy

For those of you out there who are familiar with the latest internet
phenomenon known as "blogging" and "blog sites", you may find the following
reference fascinating.
A gentleman named Phil Gyford has started a daily blog at which one can
visit and read the daily entries of Samuel Pepys' diary, along with
commentary from readers (Annotation) and an opportunity to comment yourself.
You will also find highlighted hyperlinks that provide background
information on certain items or references in the diary.
http://www.pepysdiary.com/
The site is exceptionally well done and Mr. Gyford is a very talented and
resourceful blogger.
Blogging is one of my new pastimes as well and I maintain my own site as a
repository of random musings and political rants. Really, it's just an
outlet for hobby writing.
Enjoy,
Robert Whaley

"I have in my possession a copy of the Cluff Family Journal, published ca. 1905. It contains a history of David Cluff, Sr., b. 20 Jun 1795 in NH, and his descendents. Is anyone interested in it. I personally have no interest and will be donating it to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints if I do not receive a response."
I realize this post is very old, but if anyone else finds this book in their possession I would love to get it from them. Please e-mail me at KSCluff(a)Frontiernet.net - Thank you!
