Kathy,
I recently reviewed information from my Uncle tracing my grandfather Rollie Earl Cluff to Woodland, California. He died at a Veterans Hospital in San Francisco, CA in the 1953. An obituary from the Woodland Democrat stated that Rollie Earl Cluff was survived by his wife Bessie and sons Robert L. Cluff, Leland D. Cluff, R.E. Cluff, Darrel Cluff and Dwayne Cluff; daughters Glenda J. Killingsworth and Betty Jean Cluff.
I have the death certificate and located the grave site if this information will be of any help to you.

To Cheryl Ann( Clough) Gandy:
I agree with you--I believe we have two different men. That 1st winter in Jamestown abt 2/3 of the people died in 1607. I believe our Massachusetts( born 1613/4 )John Clough'
was born in England as was wife Jane. the reason I say this is look at history--The pilgrims founded Plymouth, Mass in Dec 1620--our John Clough was already born !
Whether John & Jane came over to America with their parents & then married in Massachusetts around 1641 or if they married first in England & then came over--their 1st child, Elizabeth was born here 16 Dec 1642!
Obviously their parents would be born in England or Europe.
Guess we have some deep investigation to verify info. Don't believe everything on the Ancestral file--Often it is just someone else's guess work!
Sincerely, Myrna Merriman

go to www.familysearch.com this web site is from the lds and has alot of info...log into the system (it's free) and go to the 'search' area type in JOHN CLOUGH as the name you are looking up then JANE as the spouse...and hit search...it will bring up may result ...go all the way to number 50 under the "Ancestral File"
there you'll click on john clough's name it will be underlined...it shows info on the john clough who i believe i am related to who we have been refering to from salisbury mass...it show his father as john clough also...click on the father's name...it brings up JOhn Clough b-1587 in england dies in jamestown va in 1607 on jan 11....is this info that you have as well...again is the date the sr john dies or is this a mistake...because if he did die in 1607 and the jr john was born in 1613-1616 ther is no possible way john clough sr could be his father.......

I can find the records from Jeffery Clough b 3 apr 1809 NH
back to John Clough-b.1613/1616 in Mass. I do not find his wife or links to Jeffery B Clough & on down to you.
It would be very helpful if you'd give dates of birth & marriage & death as well as the spouse info & places. Also brothers & sisters would complete the lineage record.
Does your family continue to spell it Clough instead of Cluff?
You can submit this completed info directly to the John Clough Society yourself or I'll submit it if you'd prefer, but we need more info to make your line complete & exact..
I found a Jack Clough in the SS Death Record who was born 18 mar 1910 & died Mar 1951. The SS# had been issued in NH. Is this your father??
The same names are often used generation after generation, so a birthdate & place with the correct parents makes it so much easier to match the puzzles together--making a web
back to John Clough!
Sincerely, Myrna (Cluff )Merriman

I got all this information from another list, hope it not only helps
others too but we could enter pictures of ancestors and their
tombstones as well to share with others. Think about it.

For any genealogist, I think you will find this information helpful!
About two months ago, a cousin on another line I am working on told me
about http://www.findagrave.com and how wonderful it was. I decided to
check it out myself.
There are two sides to Find A Grave - the famous, and everyone else.
I went to the non-famous side and I found alot of information that
others, like yourself, have submitted. This was great!
Basically you type in a name, and a state where you think they were
buried. If anything comes up, it lists it. The same thing with a
cemetery look-up (except it lists all the cemeteries with that name and
the counties they are in).
Now what if the cemetery is there, but your family member is not? Well,
if you have the info, you can add them!
What if neither the cemetery or person is not there? If you have the
info, you can add it. Best of all, it costs NOTHING!
You can leave virtual flowers, messages, and even photos!
To this date, I myself have submitted over 400 names, a few photos, and
virutal flowers.
I hope that you will consider visiting this site and making it the best
site possible.
