Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Hello Tom and Everyone,
Your suggestion sounds very interesting to me. Please explain the
particulars. Are you suggesting that as a group we "register a domain and put
up a site
where everyone would have their own sub-domain plus email, maillists, chat
room to name a few"? Would this be in lieu of the present Roots Web CLOYES
list or in addition to it? What about the cost? Please tell us more after the
holidays.
Merry Christmas to all!

Pardon my absence, but have been busy putting together on-line businesses
for the past six months. In going through my inbox, I've stumbled upon some
posts like this one, which got me to thinking; since I now have a
functioning ISP/Web Hosting company, would the group be interested in what
it has to offer over RootsWeb? We could register a domain and put up a site
where everyone would have their own sub-domain plus email, maillists, chat
room to name a few. This way we would all be able to go to one site and get
information on everybody's family. Something to think about.
