I am curious as to peoples opinions regarding where the Cloyd surname came from. I have evidence that there is a split, and those who migrated from Ireland via the highlands of Scotland, primarily to Canada, in the 1900's are the Cloyd's from Scotland, while the Cloyd's who migrated from Ireland in the 1800's are from England... possibly Wales.
I am of the belief that my line, that of Ninian, came from England.
I am working on getting more proof of this, but am curious how things might be divided across the board.
