It really is neat. It will be Oct 27. There are 6 shows and it is dark for the last few. There will be a candle lit path through the cemetery. It is called "Angels on the Plains" and it is very interesting! Thank you so much for filling in some of the "holes" of her life. Did baby Jessie die from complications from the fire or do you know?
Have you been to Caldwell? There is a lot of history here that we like to preserve.
Thanks again, Karla Ward

Karla,
What a wonderful project!
Lucy was a sister of my grandmother, Luella Cloyd Nelson. The R. A. Nelson family settled in Drury, KS.
Lucy married Peter P. Hohler on 10 July 1881 at the residence of Rev. Neal, preacher of the gospel. The copy I have came from the county courthouse at Wellington.
The gruesome details of her death in a housefire comes from The Caldwell Commercial dated 26 April 1883. If you can not obtain that I will mail a copy to you.
Little Jessie died at 10 months on 6 Aug 1883. Her headstone reads/ child of P.P. & L.
Peter was married a second time and he died of heart failure in 1902.
Please e-mail me personally to let me know when the re-enactment is to take place and if you would like me to mail a copy of the newspaper article.
Donna

I live in Caldwell and we re-enact and tell the stories of people that are buried in the cemetery. I will be portraying Lucy in October. There was not much mentioned of her daughter that survived the fire. Is she Jessie that is buried in Cedar Vale with Peter? How did they both die? I read Peter is buried next to a child. This is an interesting and very sad story.
Thank you so much for any information. Karla Ward

JoHannah,
I haven't been working on genealogy for awhile either. I went back to work a couple of years ago and just kinda never got back in to it real strong.
I'm not sure what I sent you in 2003.
My James Knox Polk CLOYD was married to Sarah Elizabeth BAYLESS. They were both born in TN. Him March 27, 1849 and Sarah Jan. 29, 1844 They married Jan. 31, 1866 in Washington County, TN. by M. Strain (Justice of the Peace)
I know there were lots of Sarah's, Elizabeth's, Thomas's and etc, they liked to keep the same name in the family I guess. I would have to go back and see where David Marion COONROD comes in.
If you would though go ahead and send me what you have on any of these or any of the CLOYD family.

Hi! Are you still looking for info on David Marion Coonrod? If so, I will send you what I have (which isn't much) if you will send me what you have. Have been off genealogy until just recently again. What you sent me back in 2003 was extremely helpful. Thanks. JoHannah
