I know it's been three years since you posted your message about the Cloyd/Purvis names, but although my grandmother was a Cloyd, I have very little information on the Cloyds. However, I have a son-in-law whose mother was a Betty Yvoone Purvis. No other information available except they lived in Oregon. If you have gleaned any information on either family I would be interested. JoHannah Catt, jcattsinger(a)juno.com

Thanks for responding, I will look at my information and see but it looks like me are branching away from one another :) . I read somplace that perhaps "Cloyd" was also spelled "Cloid"; however, these family members must have lived out in the sticks because information is hard to come by. I check this board often and I will respond with some other names in a couple of days.
Thanks again
P.S.
My family is from Frankfort, KY and this is where I am getting stuck :) .

Sorry you are having problems with tracing your family.
My Cloyd family was in Washington Co., TN, then to Laurel Co. KY. When my mother was a child they moved to Louisville, Jefferson Co. KY.
Maybe we can get some interest going on this board:

This is a slow board :) . It seems as there are only a few of us who are interested in this name. I have hit many road blocks and need help. The Cloyd's I am related to are the ones from Frankfort and Versailles Kentucky. ANY information would be greatly appreciated.
Good luck to all and may the force be with you !!!!!!
