I've "rescued" a group of three letters and an invitation which I believe
all belonged to the VIVRETT Family of Green Hill, Tennessee. The three
letters are all from Maude VIVRETT to Mrs. India W. VIVRETT, her Mother.
They all appear to be from the early 1880's when Maude was attending school
at the Sard Seminary.
The invitation appears to be for an engagement party and is addressed to
Miss CLOYD & Brother from W. WILLIAMSON and lists the couple as Miss Sallie
I. WILLIAMSON & Dr. J.R. LESTER. A calling card for W.A. MOSS is also
included in the envelope though it doesn't appear to be related to the
invitation.
I am told that Maude VIVRETT was the daughter of Elisha VIVRETT and India
CLOYD and that Elisha VIVRETT died in 1869 before these letters were written
by his daughter. I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that
these wonderful pieces of family history can be returned to the care of
family.
If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please
contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
