Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Some folks think the CLOYD surname may have been CLYDE at one time.
While searching for my folks I've seen if both CLOYD and CLOID and have
often wondered if it might have been CLOUD once. In the U.S. have
tracked my folks back into KY with rumors that they came there from

I'm not sure of the ancestry of my last name but I was told it was given to my grandfather by one of his slave masters. Its truly a surprise to see so many people with the last name Cloyd. Besides the members of my family I thought we may have been the only to carry that name. :-) -SherVerne Cloyd
