I have his obituary transcribed if you need it. I am working on gathering up all information on the soldiers of the Fiftieth Tennessee Infantry, CSA, for a future regimental history. One of my great great grandfathers from Stewart County, Tennessee, plus other relatives, served in the regiment. I would like to get a photograph of him if you know of one. Clower, Eli Daniel: 2 Sgt./1 Sgt./3 Lt.; age 30, enlisted 9/13/61 at Montgomery, AL; promoted to O. Sgt./1 Sgt. 10/21/61; promoted to 3 Lt. 12/25/61; absent on furlough at surrender of Fort Donelson, TN, as one of seven men of the Company escaped capture there; received $418.66 pay 7/9/62 for service up to July 9, 1862, when he became Capt. of Co. F, 47 AL Inf., CSA; received $58.42 pay 3/7/63 for service in 1861.
Enlisted as Pvt. in Co. C, 47 AL Inf., CSA, in Tallapoosa County, AL 4/9/62.
Enlisted as Capt. in Co. F, 47 AL Inf., CSA, in Tallapoosa County, AL 5/13/62; paroled at Appomattox Court House, VA 4/9/65.
Born December 9, 1831 (or 1828) in Monroe County, GA; died July 5, 1903 in Elmore County, AL; buried Rose Hill Cemetery, Tallassee, Elmore County, AL; son of George & Margaret W.
