kids. I may be confusing Jonathan's. Did he marry Mary Shuler or Jane
Someone?

The closest I have for his birth is the 1830 Monroe Co., GA census which shows him as 40-50 years old.

Actually, I'm not a descendant of this line. I'm from the George Clower who married Susannah Black. That's the VA line. I've never been able to connect the VA and GA lines but they both went to Phil, PA after coming to the US so I suspect they come from the same family. In fact, I figure there are three Clower families in this country. It also makes sense that they would go to PA if there was already a Clower there. I agree on the Klauer spelling too. The PA tax records confirm this if you look at 1728, 1729, and 1730. I show your George as having 8 kids but I know I'm missing some. The bd's I have are all the same except I show William and Morgan as different dates by a couple years. I show Daniel July 8, 1762, Jonathan Dec 3, 1767, and Thomas Mar 31, 1780. I show George Jr bd as 1759 in Chester Co, PA. I also saw something about Daniel Boone. There is no Boone Blood in the Clower line. I can't find my notes, but I think a Clower woman married into the family!
so she would be his aunt by marriage. But remember, that's from my head. I have dates on the children of some of the eight if you want to share. Also, since you read the on-going messages back and forth between myself and Meredith you'll have noticed that she is offering to buy us all the beer we can drink.

Meredith and Mike. I have read with interest your information on this part of the Clower lineage. I too am a descendant of George Clower and Elizabeth Morgan. Did you ever determine exactly how many children they had? I have twelve [12] listed. Michael born 1751; William born 1760; Daniel born 1762; Jonathan born 1763; John born 1765; Morgan born 1767; Edward born 1772; Catherine born 1775; Jacob born 1776; George born 1777; Thomas born 1780; and Jesse born 1785. On a WFT #0622 it states that "at this time no conclusive evidence has surfaced to determine if the head of this family was George Clower or Michael Clower. Numerous source materials list one of the other of these men as the father of Jonathan Clower. It should be noted that more sources state the father was George Clower, born between 1725-1735 who married Elizabeth Morgan." On the spelling of the name...my grandmother Flora Clower Scott said that the original spelling was Klauer. There are several websit!
es that tie us to Daniel Boone, but that's another duck, eh? Would love to document the dob of George Jr. Was it ever determined? Also would love to sort out the kids.

Thanks Meredith and Mike for all the George Clower info. I will try and piece it together with what I know.
