I am researching Clow's on my husband's side. His ggg grandparents were
Peter and Sarah Clow. They were living in PA in 1850 and NY in 1860. They
had the following children: Lewis, John, Harriet, Charles, Frederick
(husband's gg grandfather), and Elizabeth. Frederick married Sarah Padgett
from NJ. They had the following children: Mertie May, Charles and Albert
Frederick.

It appears my great grandfather migrated from the stated to PEI and my
grandfather Leith Clow was born in PEI along with brothers and sisters
Georgina, Maggie, Lucy, Jim, and Lemuel. William was married to Charlotte
Reed but I don't know brothers and sisters. I found William and Charlotte
once and I think he was a Captain in some military function.

I have an uncle that gave me some better information. It appears that the Clows in my family did come from Scotland in the 1700's to the United States, possibly Maine. My great Grandfather is William Clow and was born in the states. He was married to Charlotte Reed in the states. After the American Revolution most of the Clows went to Canada around Ontario. My family settled in Charlottetown, CA in Prince Edward Island. Does anyone connect with this informaiton.

I am trying again and very frustrated. My grandfather is Leith Felix Peter Clow. I am not sure if he was born in Canada or Scotland but his father William was from Scotland. I think he was married to Charlotte Reid also from Scotland. They also had 4 other children; one was Georgina Clow Nodwell who moved to Connecticut and they immigrated from England to Canada but I do not know which Port. My grandfather died in Canada in 1977. He was married to Marie L. Clow in Liverpool England where she is also buried. She died in 1950 and I think in Canada. She was born in either Liverpool or Morcombe England. My mother is Dorothy Clow Foote. She has several brothers born in Canada; James, Donald, Leslie, Leith Jr., Kenneth and Stanley; and has one sister Florence. If anyone can help me track the items further than this or even conformation on some of the items I would greatly appreciate it. I also do not know if there were alternate spellings and would like to know that.
