MANY thanks! You saved me much digging (which I'll probably do eventually anyway). I would descend through Mary Hester's son, William T. who lived in Galena. (I still have to prove OUR William is THEIR William). I just heard of the Clough surname through another cousin and located Nathaniel in the census with Hester. Do you have much on the Clough/Clow family?

I don't know if there is a connection yet. I'm looking at the possiblity that Hester, Nathaniel's daughter, might have married John Wood (Kent County) about 1862. The name Clough has surfaced in our ancestry. Would you happen to know?

George F. Clow was first married to Charlotte Ann Vickerson. they lived in the Martin county, Minnesota area. He later married my relative Bessie Bartholomew who was born in Excelsior, Sauk,Wisconsin Jan. 21, 1882. George is buried in the Multnomah Park Pioneer Cemetery in Portland, Oregon along with Bessie. George died 6-27-1922. He was a contractor. Bessie died Sept. 7, 1957. Her last name was Roe at the time of her death. I am looking for information about George, Charlotte and especially Bessie. The Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery in Seattle, WA. has posted that George's parents were Malcolm C. Clow and Maria Ann White. George's siblings were Kate, Pearl, Lewis Laury and Lillian. He also had a half sister named Pearl Macnetta. She married a Roy McKeal Laville.
