Dave,
I have not come across either name in my immediate family tree, but there was a split in the family around about 1920, and some relatives are unknown to me from this time. If I get more, I will get back to you.
regards
Martin

My name is Dave Kill. I live in Australia.
My mother's maiden name was Clowes before it was changed when she young. Her father Harold (Harry) Clowes separated from his wife Edith Hawkes. His son David Clowes who would be around 70 years old if alive was taken with him. As neither were seen again I have no leads to his line. Harry was from England.
If you have any leads that might help, I would be greatly appreciative.
Kind Regards
Dave

My father, Vernon Clow, son of Frank M. Clow, a postmaster in Coin (later St. John, WA), told me the name was an Anglicized version of the Prussian name von Klaugh.
