I have a copy of the children of John Metler Clover. It has a lot of errors in it but it does have some useful informtion.
In this booklet, it says:
Margaret Clover died 1903, married (1) 1896 David Johnson married (2) Arthur Luckhaus
Child: Russell Ellis Johnson, born 16 May 1897, St. Louis, Missouri
I have searched the records of St. Louis births of this era which are online and did not find this birth so I think he was born elsewhere.
If I can help further, please contact me at junebyr(a)yahoo.com

Hello!
I was wondering if anyone knew anything about Minnie Clover's son, Russell Ellis Johnson??
He was my great grandfather and no one seems to know anything about him, really. We know that Minnie had him before she was married and as far as we know, the father was David Alan Johnson. However, it really does not seem to add up and we can't find any evidence of him even existing!
Another interesting thing is the fact that Russell grew up with Minnie's parents and was listed as their son in some census, with his last name as Clover, and their grandson in others.
I am pretty sure that Russell was not a Johnson at all and am really curious to figure out if anyone may know the story!
The less I find, the more the curiosity kills me! :P

We have started a Clover DNA project. There are about seven lines of Clovers residing in America before 1800. We hope to find out if some of them are related. We are looking at using Genetic Research along with Traditional Genealogy Research to try to find out more about our ancestors. Since the Y Chromosome is carried by the male line, we need some Clover males to take the test. Check out the DNA site at: www.familytreedna.com Put Clover in the search box. Should you take the test sign up for the 37 .
