Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

To find out about Civil War service, go to the government site. Then after you find out which unit they were in, go to Google and do a search on that unit. This search should give you a lot of info on the unit and its members.

Lloyd, can you point me in the direction of the sources for the service/death information on Eli and Josiah? Eli was my 3G grandfather. Didn't have these dates or this info for either of them, but I've not been satisfied with what we did have.

Eli Clover was born in 1830 in Clark County, Arkansas. He was the son of William Clover & Nancy Freeman. On Oct 29, 1851 he married Matilda Pebworth the daughter of Henry Pebworth & Patsy McCann. In 1856 they had a son Robert L. Clover. In 1860 they had a son Josiah M. Clover. On Oct 12, 1861 Eli Clover joined Company C, 4th Battalion, Arkansas Infantry, Confederate States Army in Little Rock , Arkansas. He was killed in action on Feb 3, 1862 in Columbus, Kentucky. He was 32 years old. His brother Josiah Clover had been killed four days earlier on Jan 30, 1862.
Josiah Clover was born in 1841 in Clark County, Arkansas. He was the son of William Clover & Nancy Freeman. On Oct 12, 1861 in Little Rock, Arkansas, Josiah Clover joined Company C, 4th Battalion, Arkansas Infantry, Confederate States Army. He was killed in action on Jan 30, 1862 in Columbus, Kentucky.
