Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Since the newly available 1930 census does not have an index outside of the
south, most of us have a small problem. The majority of Clovers were living
in larger cities by the 1920 census so I assume that they are still there in
the 1930 census.
There is an interesting new site that I want to bring to your attention.
http://phonebooklookups.homestead.com/
This is a site for phone books and city directories lookups. I have just
volunteered what I can do and I suggest that you may want to volunteer here
also. It is going to be a very important service. And this is the only site
that I know of that is concentrating on this service.

Dear Carlian,
Can you tell us about what year you are searching in? I don't have this one
but I do have some marriage records on-line at:
http://members.aol.com/junebyr/mar.html
AOL has been giving me fits so if this doesn't work, let me know and I will
do a lookup.
June Byrne junebyr(a)aol.com
I am looking for a marriage of Susan Clover to a Dennis. I have looked
in several counties in Texas but have not found a marriage. It would be
nice if the other members of this website would publish marriages of
Clovers that they have found, it might help some of us.
Thanks
Carlian Massingill Pittman, carlian(a)airmail.net
Dear Larry,
Since your John was born between 1780 and 1790 in NJ, you have a problem.
John Peter Clover had a son John according to a county history article.
However, nothing more is known of him since he does not show up in the
guardianship records after John Peter died in 1766. My theory is then that
he was either much older than your John or died young before John Peter's
death.
But your Perry County Clover branch is one of the hardest families to track.
It does not fit neatly into any other Clover family. Good luck.
June Byrne junebyr(a)aol.com
John Peter Clover had a son named John. I have no further info on him other
than his name. His had 10 sibs, one of whom was born in 1758.
That is just a clue and an idea of a starting place. I call it a tingler!

For those of us who want to know about what our ancestors were doing, it is
sometimes hard to visualize what their lives might have been like.
Someone just sent me this and I thought others might enjoy it.

I want to say thanks to all of the people who have sent messages to the list.
It is really nice to hear from you.
As it happens, I am looking at Clovers because this is my wife's family. I am
trying to figure out where to plug in John Clover of Perry County, Ohio. He
was born in New Jersey between 1780 and 1790. I can't seem to place him in
the major Clover families. I am still working on this and hoped that I would
hear something that would help.

Welcome Larry,
Please tell us how you are connected to the Clover's if you are. And if you
aren't please tell us how/why you very kindly took over this list.
Clover's are a collateral line for us. They married into our Taber's at
frequent intervals. See below. So of course we are still looking for
antecedants, descendants, and more, more, more of our family! If anyone has
any information and/or suggestions for where and how to search please
contact me.

I am Kris Marquart Breid and am descended from John D. Clover (b. 1829,
IN) and Elizabeth Moore (b. about 1836, OH). Their children were Alice
(1856), George (1858), Laura (1861), Louis, (1868), Thom (1870). The
family moved to MO before Thom's birth. George settled around Franklin
County, MO. He and his wife, Delilah Isabelle Park (1867) had Herman
(1886), John (1887), Tracy (1889), Virginia (1891), Charles (1893), Tom,
(1896), George (1897), Admiral Dewey (1899), & Harry (1901). Dewey was
my grandpa. I believe that John D. is the son of Eliza Aspril & James
Clover, son of Nancy Metler and Paul Clover, but I haven't done enough
to verify that.
I am June Byrne. I have been researching for many years and am descended

Hi there:
I am Carol-Jeanne Turk and have been doing research on my family for 37
years. A lot of the info I have was passed down from my great aunt, Nellie
McGinnis, who was the family historian. I descend from John Peter Clover in
the following manner:
John Peter Clover
Philip Clover
Gamaliel Clover, Sr.
Martha Jane Clover (Mathew M. McGinnis)
Clarence B. McGinnis
Viola Belle McGinnis
Carmen Lucille Rossman
Carol-Jeanne Brown
Right now I am in search of the burial place of John Peter Clover. I know
he was buried in Hunterdon County, New Jersey in either Clover Hill or
Kingwood but have been unable to locate the grave. Any help in this quest
would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Greetings from Gordon & Shirley Olson, Raleigh, NC. Good luck Larry Holland, nice hearing from you. Which Clovers are yours?
I have traced Thomas H. Clover, Gordon's great grandfather, from his beginnings in Jefferson Co., MO, to his adventures in Canada and final days in Walhalla, North Dakota. Going back from Tom Clover to his antecedents has been more difficult but I have gotten to Monroe Co., Ill., to his grandfather William Clover. I have heard from numerous descendants of Jacob Clover, his brother, but prior to the Monroe Clovers the trail gets cold.
Best Wishes,
Shirley & Gordon Olson
Hi there!

Jefferson County. I have a little bit on his parents,
but, to be honest, have not looked in as many records
as I should.

Welcome to the new list admin Larry Holland. I am new to this list and
just beginning to renew a search for the ancestors and family of William
Clover (d. 1862) who married Temperance Hammond (d. 1866). They were
residents of Taberg, Annsville Township. William was a farmer. The
couple had seven known children: (birth order yet unknown)sons Ai,
Orris, and Orrin; daughters Polly, Aurelia, Saloma, and Naoma.
