Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Matthew,
I bought my copy of the map in a shop along the road on the North side
of the island that sold a lot of stuff relating to genealogy. It was
near the parish of Ste-Famille. There was also a genealogy shop in the
basement of the church of Ste-Famille. At the entrance to the island is
an information center where you can get more information. See a simple
map at
http://genealogy.happyones.com/lheureux/images/ile-dorleans.gif
When we visited there, we stayed in the Old Presbytery (now a B&B) right
next to the Church of St-Pierre. The inn is featured in this article.
One of the owners, Huges L'Heureux, is my cousin.
While there, do not miss the Félix Leclerc Center (famous French
Canadian singer) on the location where he spent the last part of his
life. For details, see
http://www.fondationfelixleclerc.com/esp_espace.htm
Note that you will be traveling early (May is early by Quebec standards)
and that many of these places will only be opened on the weekend. Call
first not to be disappointed.
For pictures of the island, see

Have a good trip.
Jacques

Doris,
Glad you are enjoying it. There are web places that will print such
large pictures and mail them to you. But do not ask for a high
resolution color print on photo paper but ask for a lower resolution
(150 dpi max) black and white print on bond paper of the kind used in
architecture. If you know a friend who works for an architectural or
electronics design firm, talk to them first as them may be able to print
them for you for a lot less. They all have those wide bed printers
suitable to print those maps.
Or wait till you get to Quebec and purchase them from specialty
bookstores. I purchased my map of the Ile d'Orléans area from a small
show off the main road on the island. I paid less than $10.
Otherwise, have the jpg files printed at places like
RootsMagic (a genealogy software company) - From $1.50/sq ft.
http://www.rootsmagic.com/wallcharts.htm
Black & Blueprints - From $2/sq ft plus setup
http://www.blackblueprints.com/services/LargeFormatCopies.html
FedEx Kinko's - From $10/sq ft

PS. You may be able to pick up locally and avoid shipping charges
Other large format color print houses (more expensive)
