Hi Raymond
Does the Zacherie list contain an M.Joseph Cloutier or Phydime Alfred Cloutier. I am starting to research my mother's maiden name and the above two names are all I have at this point. I do know that my mother was born in Lawrence MA in 1926 and Phydime Alfred Cloutier was born 11-26-1887 in St. Louis de Kamouraska PQ. He died 12-17-1952 in Auburn, ME. His father M. Joseph Cloutier died 1-13-1921 @63y in Lawrence MA. They came to the US from Kamouraska PQ.
Hope you can help me with some information. I also have Phydime's siblings names.
Hope to hear from you.
Thank You for your help.
Pauline

I am searching for information on my maternal grandfather. He was married to Alida Mayotte around 1910 and had 8 children: Evelyn, Helen, Robert, John, Henry, Geraldine, Theresa and Raymond and reside in Concord NH. He was also referred to as Jerimian but is listed on my mother's birth certificate as Jerry F. Any info is greatly appreciated

Carl,
Thank you for the speedy response. I hope all goes well with your move.
My grandfather, Clarence, died many years ago and, unfortunately, I was to young to know to ask questions. My grandmother would not discuss this matter at all. I have not been able to locate exactly what "clan" we were associated with. According to my mother, she does remember moving her grandfather, William, from the St Regis reservation. I have tried to get information from them but due to a fire there are no records. I would appreciate any information (once your move is completed) you can share with me.
Thank you.

My mother, Lucy M. Cloukey, sometimes spelled Clukey and sometimes known as Pearl with the variations of the last name of Clukey, had an Aunt Sadie from Maine. My mother's father was Angus Cloukey or Clukey. Angus was born, near as I can figure, sometime around mid 1880's. Northern Maine was the origin and I have had town names mentioned such as Fort Kent, Howland, Ashland etc. Any similarities? Mother's sisters and brothers were Ralph, Leonard, Freeman, Robert, Lottie, Jacqueline, Geraldine, Francis, Guy, Marjorie and a host of other relatives.

Valerie,
Thanks. As earlier stated, we are in the process of selling our house and moving to our new home by the end of this month. Things are a little hectic right now and I will be in a much better frame of mind to pursue this thing after the dust settles. In the interim, I will most likely come across a few more papers with some info that I might be able to pass on to you. I don't know about your findings thus far but I have found that my root family, though extremely talented and skilled in many trades, nearly all were uneducated and there is little written that I can rely on. Unfortunately the elders of the "clan" are almost all passed away so I only have what I can recall collecting, as a child, that came to me by word of mouth. My father's side was even worse!
Blessings to you during this time of high anxiety and crisis.

My maternal grandfather was named Angus Cloukey or Clukey and he passed away around 1950. I believe he would have been about 64 years old when he passed away so he would have been born in the mid-1880's or so. He had a brother named William and several other siblings I do not have records access to. (We are in the process of moving and my papers are packed but I will be on line and communicating after the 1st of November 2001) Would love to see what info you have on Cloukey, Clukey or Clookey, primarily from or around Northern Maine, having migrated down from Canada, I believe Nova Scotia area.
