Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
We have just added a Message Board to the Franco-American Connection home
page at http://www.happyones.com/genealogy/juliana/
Have a look. Leave Juliana some new ideas for columns and contribute you
recipe of Tourtière to her upcoming book on the subject. And if you have
other traditional french canadian dishes, please share them with us all by
leaving them on the message board where everyone will be able to read them.
When you add a message or a recipe or whatever, make sure that your subject
line reflects the contents of your message. Subject lines on a message board
are like the table of contents in a book.
Within a week or so, another 8-10 new stories will be added to the main page.
I will keep you posted.

A writer in our ranks.
Juliana Jubinksy-L'Heureux writes a weekly column about Maine's
Franco-American population. Her column appears every Thursday in the Portland
Press Herald, Portland, Maine. Her husband Richard L'Heureux in my ninth
cousin, once removed.
With her permission and her help, I have created a web site to distribute her
columns. As time goes on, we will be adding more columns. In particular,
several food columns are being prepared.

Finding United States Locations Using On-Line Aerial Photos and
Topographical Maps
This site opened my eye on new ways to find United States Locations. Here the
author uses the U.S. Geological Survey Geographic Names Information System
to pinpoint locations of cemeteries and the Microsoft Terra Server site to
view aerial shots of it. Just Amazing!
Check out the site at

I just had to share it with you.
