Thanks Alan,
James Clouston and Christian/Christina Louttit were my great-great-great
grandparents
I have a photo of their gravestone in Stenness kirkyard. Four of their ten
children are also named on the stone including Thomas who died 12 September
1894. I suspect that he remained unmarried, but have no proof whatsoever
other than in the 1891 census he is shown as unmarried, living at Wardhill
with his brother Joseph and sister Catherine, both also unmarried.
Makes me wonder if we're talking about the same Thomas?
Mike Clouston

Dear Mike
I hope that you will be able to help me.
My great grand father Thomas Clouston, son of Thomas and Isabella Clouston (nee Sharp) emigrated to Natal in 1851. He had a brother Daniel and a sister Jessica. Thomas was born 1809 Rothesay Bute, and died 1895 Charlestown Natal. Thomas married Annie Rind Simpson, and has 4 sons and a daughter.
What I am trying to find out is where did Daniel and Jessie's families end up. I would also like to have the names of Thomas's parents.
Kind regards
George Clouston
