I am also Jack Clouse's granddaughter. I never formally met him. I only remember him as someone who was at my grandmother, Bernice "Peggy" Woodman Haley Metz's funeral. He would not give his name, only said that my grandmother was someone very dear to him that he hadn't seen in many years.
It was only later that I found out my father was adopted by my grandfather Jack Haley when they got married. It clicked then who the man at the funeral was- my biological grandfather. And suddenly it all made sense why he couldn't take his eyes off my or my children after he asked me my name.
I only wish he would have introduced himself before he left and told me who he really was as I really would have liked to have known him before he died.
The Find a Grave website has a very good item on him, with family links and even pictures of his parents.
If you would like to write me back it would be nice to get to know another cousin. If not, I would understand your family situation as I have not had it confirmed but think he may have been married to someone else when my father was born.
I hope the information helps your search. On my mother's side I have my family traced back to Frisia in 1642, so I hope this helps in your search.
Debra
