Harland is pictured in Wings, yearbook of the 44-E class of cadets at Pecos Army Air Field in Pecos, Texas. He is a flight commander. I'm not kin but thought this might help someone researching the family.

This sounds like my Clouse family from Mitchel, Indiana and Garrard, Kentucky.

This is my family. I descend from James Wesley Clouse, but I've never been able to prove who his parents are. Do you have a record showing this connection?

This is an old thread, but it has some of my family in it. I might descend from William Clouse and Patsy Fain. I'm not sure, though, because records stop with a James Wesley Clouse from Kentucky. I'm trying to get the connections further back.

I don't know of a William Henry Clouse, but my Clouse family is from Indiana around the same time. They came from Kentucky. They came to Southern Indiana and settled for several generations in and around Mitchell. Near Mitchell, there is Connerly Switch where there is a cemetery with some of my family buried. I don't know much about my Clouse family besides where they were previously living in Kentucky. I'd love to be able to connect to some other Clouse families. There were many different Clouses in Indiana and Kentucky.

My family descends from James' nephew, Charles, who married Lula's sister, Lucy. I have a picture of Lula. I also have some pictures of the gravestone of their infant daughter, Lucille, in Hamer Cemetery at Spring Mill Park. James and Charles were both living around Spring Mill which is close to Lawrence. As I recall, James owned some land there and there are records for it in Lawrence. I recently connected with someone who descends from James and Lula which is where I got Lula's picture from (I could give her your info if you'd like). I may have some other data about James, but I'm not sure. I definitely have lots of data on the Clouse and Hawk families. Both came to Southern Indiana from Kentucky around the same time. I don't know where the Clouses came before Kentucky, but I've found records of the Hawk family back to New Jersey. There is a place in Lawrence that has a historical museum and genealogical records.
