Della Prietta Clouse Franklin passed away 18 August 2004 at Cookeville, Putnam County TN. Her nickname was Pat, and I believe that is how she was listed as author of Book of Remembrance. I was another of those people looking for a copy of the book, and her surviving family members didn't know anything about it. How sad.

I tried contacting Pat Franklin a few years ago. The person I talked to at that time told me she was in a nursing home. They had no knowledge of any book she might have written, much less where if any copies might be available. I was not aware that she has since passed away.
There was someone who reported a copy available on the Clouse list about a year ago and got an initial response from them on a copy of the book they had for sale but never heard from them again.
I have had a standing order on Amazon.com for about 4 years now with no success and a search on Ebay for about the same time. If someone has a copy they are through with I would appreciate you contacting me about it if you are willing to sell the book or loan it out for a short time.
Thanks.

The book is unfortunately out of print, and the author Pat (Clouse) Franklin has passed away. I have tried to get a copy of the book, too, but nobody seems to know what happened to any extra copies that may have been in Pat's estate. If anybody has a copy they would like to pass on to a Clouse family researcher, please let me know!

My 4th great grandfather was John Clouse, b. 1793 in Washington Township, New Jersey. He married Temperance, b. 1808 in Morris County, New Jersey. Temperance's maiden name has been a mystery for years and I continue to try to get to the bottom of her parentage. I have now been looking at naming patterns. My 5th great grandfather was Jacob Clouse, b. 2 Jan 1770. He married Abigail Dickerson, b. in Chester, New Jersey.
John and Temperance's first son was John Welsh Clouse, b. 28 Nov 1824 in Morris County. In the 1830 census, Jacob is found residing in Washington, Morris, New Jersey. There are several Welsh families living in close proximity to Jacob and Abigail.
John and Temperance's second son was David Dickerson Clouse, b. 29 Jan 1827 in Washington Township. Easy to find the naming pattern here.
It would be easy to say that Welsh was Temperance's maiden name until you come to their 3rd son:
Alexander Snyder Clouse b. 11 Jun 1829. Snyder could also be a maiden name. Anyone have any information on these families? Sorry for the previous posts. Pushed button by mistake.
