Hi Jim-
Did you e-mail Lavonne directly, too? She may not subscribe to the
Clouse list. I noticed her original query came from the Ancestry boards.
I have 3 George W. Clouses in my files, too! I didn't have any dates
for the one who was the s/o William and Elizabeth, but the time frame
seemed to fit. Thanks for the dates from your files. My mother in law's
Clouse line was from TN and also went to OK, via TX-her father was Fred
Clouse, s/o Isaac Wesley, s/o John, s/o Thomas J.

Of the George Washington Clouses in my file, there are three that could be
the George in question. One was born ca. 1770 and is less likely to have
joined the fight. He also had moved to Marion Co., TN before that time -
ca. 1820.
Another was his son, born ca. 1808 and also in Marion Co. at the mentioned
time. These are my Clouses and I have no knowledge of their having been in
the Indian Wars.
The last, and most likely, was the son of William & Elizabeth Laudermilke
Clouse and was born October 14, 1813 in Washington Co., TN. He married
Nancy Ann McInturf in Knox Co., Tn in 1836 and died in Webster Co., MO
April 02, 1889.
I know of no Phoebe to be connected to any of the G. W. Clouses in my file.
There was an Ables family in Marion Co., in 1850 and later. I know of no
connection between these Ableses and my Clouses.
You do not state whether or not your mentioned Phoebe was to have been
married to George. Do you have them married????
